Feels crap, got infections on both boobs.

Pulled my steri strips back to ouzing holes. Back on antibiotics & worried about my scars now cos I look like I’ve got holes were the infection is 😥 xxx

There was no nurse was in clinic today so went to see my surgeon as she was at the hospital round the corner from me. jus worried bout scarring more than anything xxx

are you in much pain? i was surprised at the small amount of antibiotics they give you in the first place to be honest.xx

I’m so sorry to hear that – must be really upsetting.

I had my BA 15 weeks ago and after week one the min i got out of the shower i sprayed my scars with savlon wound wash – never got an infection and my scars healed up really well.

No not in pain, jus pissed off, nearly 3weeks po & wen things r supposed to be getting better they’re just getting worse.

Amanda they told me pujt nothing on them – but did not want to take the risk so did wot i thought was best… i had read so many things bout girls getting infections and it scared me so much xxx

Hun, try not to panic. I also had an infection and mine was a particularly stubborn one. It took 2 lots of antibiotics plus sterile ointment and dressings before mine finally shifted. My scars also looked like they had little holes in them where the infection was. I was told that it was the stitch that more than likely caused the infection as my body had taken a dislike to them. My scars actually look like this now o—o—o xx

Really? Are they noticeable? Were was the infection? Both of mine are on my nipples, one right on the top, the other were the nipple meets the scar running down. The scabs have lifted & I can see holes. I’ve taken off my steri strips to let some air get to them, hoping itl dry out xxx

Yeah, my scars are very noticeable but I’m just gonna have to let time do the work. When I have some money I’ll be trying the dermatix scar sheets. My infection was on the wound in the breast fold. My surgeon gave me polyfax ointment and dressings which I wore constantly for about a month- I wore them in the shower and changed them every dat. The stuff is fab, I’d use it if I were you. x

hi hun i got an ifnection and it came out through an hole on my nipple incisions. it was tiny at first but as the infection carried on, the yellow gunk had to be squeezed out every 2 days by the surgeon. so it did open up to about the size of a pea. im 3 months post op now my scars are looking fab, you can notice where the hole was as the scarring is darker there. but im sure it will fade in time just like the rest have. think its just as that bit healed last so its taking longer to fade. the scar is a lot smaller than the hole if that makes sense xxx

You cam use them after your 6 week check if all is ok and wounds are dry. They are collagen sheets that reduce scaring and flatten raised scars. They are used on burns patients, you can get them and also the gel off eBay and amazon.

I’ve just took my temp and it’s just over 38 left boob on the underside feels stingy supposes to be back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks off ( one week holiday and one week sick). Xxx

I’m gonna invest in some of those then. I was told to have 3-4 weeks off, I booked myself out for 4 weeks but it’s drivin me crazy Bein stuck in as well as both kids mine n fellas bday n Xmas comin up I need the money!

Nitemare, u need to ring the 24 hr thing, get into clinic n get some antibiotics.

Dr Traynor said 2-3 weeks off as well, i think I really underestimated the healing, feel like a right pollock cus I told work I’ll be in on Monday but I still font feel right my dad said I look grey!!! Right nipples stinging now ffs, my own stupid fault as I tried to do some hoovering, felt like I’d ripped it off!!! So god knows what that going to look like tomorrow when i have my dressings changed!!! Xxx

Well I’m dressing free apart from a few steri strips, it was wen I peeled them off I found the holes. God nos how wen theyve been all covered up. I’ve been doin hovering, changing beds, liftin all sorts,runnin about after my 2year old like a headless chicken! I knew I shouldn’t but no Fokker else is gonna do it for me, my fellas working all hours god sends already!

Are u gonna av a few more days off? You’d be best off, get your feet up. Xxx

Thanks everyone! I left my dressings off last nite, which I got told not to do but the lovely green holes av all dried out now so fingers crossed There will be no muck leaking. Well knowing my luck my boobs will prob drop off now!
