Hi girls sorry to moan, really feel my right boob isn’t right
so swollen and in alot of pain
it’s so diff from my left!! Tried calling nurse no answer will try again tomorrow, I’m a week tomorrow since had them done has anyone else noticed one being bigger and causing more pain xx
Capsular contracture that sounds like
Oh no, not experienced this sorry hun. Both are equally tight & still a little swollen. Yes keep ringing the nurse. Don’t panic yet, it could be nothing.
Have you got the emergency number hun? It might not be anything serious and could just be part of the healing process but if its really causing that much pain then get on the phone. That should put your mind at rest at least. Good luck! x
My right one as had a lot more pain than the left (I almost wonder if I’ve got an implant in the left one lol) and I was too worried about the difference. I spoke to yhe nurse and she said that you have to treat each boob as two different operations and they will heal differently. Def keep tying to speak to the nurse about the swelling but try not to panic. Is your boob really hard – I asked before I left hospital and they said if it’s CC then it will be rock hard – like your tapping a side top. If you are that worried and can’t get through on emergency line I’d ring highgate reception (or whatever hosp you went to) to see if theycan help/get hold of someone youcan talk to xxx
Thank u girls, sounds silly but wat is cc!! Yes it feels rock hard
xx
Capsular Contraction hun. They must have gone through this with you during your surgeon consultation? If it is that, they will need to re-operate. Google it and it will expalin it better than I can. Hopefully it won’t be that as it is quite rare apparently but of course does happen. Let us know how you get on xx
Here you go, just found this…
What is capsular contracture?
When breast implants, or any other foreign object, are placed in the body, the body forms a lining around it. This lining, or capsule, is formed by your own living tissue. Many people refer to this lining as the “capsule”, “tissue capsule”, or “scar capsule”, although it is not exactly the same thing as scar tissue. This is the body’s natural response to a foreign object.
Capsule contracture, the most common complication of breast augmentation surgery, can happen at any time, but seems to be more common in the first several months after surgery. At the time of the initial surgery, a pocket is made for the implant. During the healing process, a capsule forms, which is comprised of fibrous tissue. The body is genetically programmed to shrink scar tissue somewhat. Under normal conditions, the pocket remains open, thus allowing the implant to look and feel natural. However, in some people, the capsule will tighten, and squeeze the implant. This makes the breast implant feel hard, and distorts the appearance of the breast. In the later stages, the implant feels very firm, and may take on a “ball-like” look. It is important to remember that it is not the implant that has hardened. The shrinking of the capsule compresses the implant, causing it to feel firm/hard. However, once the implant is removed, it is just as soft as it was the day it was inserted.
hi telle im sure cc doesnt happen this early it maybe fluid or just healing slower then the other hope u get through to the nurse soon and i wish u well.xx
Hey Hun nope afraid not!!! Not even heard of this to be honest I got told nothing just a card who to call not impressed at all xx
don’t worry this is perfectly normal. i am 3 wekks post op and my left boob has always been fine. Like you my right was much more painful and larger than the other. I asked my nurse at 1 week post op and she said its early days and completly normal at this stage especially when you consider what your body has been throu. even now i still get some discomfort in it but it has eased considerably. They will settle. Don’t panic it is very unlikely to be contrapular contraction it would not show itself for months, rare before 6 months post op. Honestly its normal, don’t worry
Yeah im 3 days post op n my right boob is a lot less painfull than my left. I can move my right arm around but try to move my left n it hurts like hell. Just all part of the healing process im sure. You cant expect em to be same as its like 2 seperate operations. Dont stress too much hope all goes well
xx
Thanks girls made me feel alot better
hope ur all healing well xxx
babe my nurse said it occurs from 6-12 months. your body is just trying to understand what has happened. you will be fine. dont be scared by the CC stuff thats very extreme x x
Far too early for a Capsular Contraction – it’s early days, mine were rock hard to start with, if you find it to be really worrying, try ya nurse again tomorrow xxx
hi telle, one week post op is way to early for CC hun, but you might have a little infection maybe. Have you managed to chat with the nurse yet? She is the best person to talk to really, let us know how you get on. Big hug x
