Hey girls,

I’ve just joined this tonight as I’m looking for some help and guidance. I’m 18 but have dreamed of having ba for as long as I can remember. The only thing stopping me is my financial situation, I’m a student but work all the hours I can just to try and save, there is no way however that I could afford to pay for the surgery outright straight away but have read that it can be difficult to obtain credit with being a student. Just wondered if anyone else has gotten credit whilst being a student? I’ve got around 1500 saved and hopefully will have more by next year (when I’m hoping I could get them done), have had the same part-time job for over two years so hopefully will show I have a steady and permanent income plus think I will have an alright credit rating (although its only been building since may) as I pay car insurance, mobile, catalogue and gym membership and never missed any payments. Just too nervous to take the next step and book consultation just to get knocked back as I think it’ll demotivate me and make me wanna stop saving!!

I think you would benifit from going and having an appointment and they will be able to help you and advise you on what’s best. MYA use a company for loans and they do 0% for a year, and you will need to earn a min of a £1000 a month.

You could also get a 0% credit card. I personally didn’t want to get into debt by having my BA so I saved up for it, took a while but I made my final payment today and have my op in 3 weeks so I got there in the end xx

Hi Amy, do you know do you have to earn £1000 a month for all of the finance options or are you not sure? Also did you save yourself or did you save up through mya (am I right to think that they have a savings scheme?) xx

Hey, I’m a student and work part time and I it accepted for finance. I earn a really gd wage tho so I’m not sure if u need to earn a certain amount per month. Ur pc can tell u if u will be accepted over the fone! I was soo worried I wouldnt get accepted but I did n I’m over the moon all u can do is try hun. If u don’t get finance u can always use the mya piggy bank n save up that way. Xxxx
