Finding it hard to give up smoking and opp is in 4days help!!

Hey ladies, finding it really hard to give up smoking im trying everything I can but nothing seems to work any tips to help me…. Im worried that I am smoking and they told me not to ….. What should I do??

Clifford – I smoked 15 a day post op, 3 on the ba day and 15 a day since – luckily im 14 wk post op and no complications xx have added u so u can look at me pics xx

I was told at my pre op to try not to smoke but as long as I cut down and didn’t smoke on the morning of my op the nurse wasn’t bothered if I gave up or not!

Saying that I seemed to have a very laid back nurse she seemed to disagree or changed everything on the information sheet she gave me, I can continue to take my pill, I don’t have to give up smoking however I can’t drink for 2 weeks prior to op…. Sheet says 48hrs so I’m having a fruity cider now! My BA is in Wednesday! Excited.com!

like Cuks I continued to smoke before and after although I did cut down….I’m now 13 weeks on..maybe a little slower to heal but I am a slow healer anyway so who knows..xx

I was told no pill no fags and no drink and after work yesterday i sat n drunk 2 pints bad person i am – my opps on wed aswell where u having yours emmajaneb? Thank you lisalu71 and boardman i dont feel so bad now xx

Hi girls,

I was told that they can refuse your operation if you haven’t quit smoking. My friend was asked by the anaesthetist if she had smoked in the last 6 months, and she said yes and he put his pen down as if to say he wasn’t going to do it. But she had actually quit smoking 3 months before the op and he was alright about it. What will I say if they ask me?!?! HELP!! xxx

Hi girls I have my Ba tomorrow and have had the same problem giving up. When I spoke to my surgeon she said as long as you cut down ( so not smoking 20+ a day) then it’s fine. I gave up for 24 hours and was so stressed my bf went and bought me a pack as he thought the stress would so more harm than the fags!!!!! lol. I have managed to cut it down to around 7 a day and have been told this is ok. x
