    Hi all

How did you all fund your BA?

I’m 22 and have a full time job, however I have my own place so most of my wages are spent on my rent and utilities etc..

I was told at my MYA consultation last week that I probably wouldn’t be accepted for finance with MYA due to my age, as the company that they use have a specific criteria.

I already have a loan with my own bank which I pay off monthly, so I doubt that they will give me another…

I want a BA so much, as my chest has made me really down for years now and has severely affected my confidence.. my GP has just fobbed me off with useless ‘body image’ counselling in the past which has only confirmed to me that I wont be happt until I have a BA.

I don’t really want to attend my appointment with Mr Traynor and upset myself when I can’t get accepted for finance for something i’ve wanted for so many years :(

Apologies that this is such a long message.

Hey Hun, most my wages go on bills after paying them and saving enough for petrol for the month I’m left with 250 ish to live on which is nothing! I basically stopped everything nice it’s so hard it actually unreal, no shopping no meals or takeaways, no nights out or cinema or anything but it’s bloody working :D I get so down thinking I can’t do anything then see how much I have in my account and how close I am to having my boobies it cheers me up, I say I treat myself once a month to keep me sane! So shit but when it’s all done I have something to show for the money I worked hard for! and it’s goin to make me soo happy once I do have them! I no it takes a hell of a lot longer but if that’s the only thing u can do for the moment then do that and carry on looking about for loans and I one comes up u can borrow less as u have some of the money saved! :) Xx

Aw thanks girls :) glad to know i’m not the only one!!

Do you think it’s a good idea for me to go to my consultation next week with Mr Traynor? or do you reckon it’s best to wait until I have saved up/have found a loan??

U should start up a “piggy bank” with mya! U can put as much or as little as u like each month and before u know it u would have saved up the money :) I was originally going to do this! Hope this helps x x

Hi, I saved up for my BA, it took me 6 months. I wish I had gone for my consultations sooner as I had to wait just over 2 months for my BA. I think you should go for your consultation as sometimes it takes a while to fine the right surgeon or you may want another consultation with the same surgeon and appointments can be quite spaced out. I think if you do the piggy bank scheme you can even book a date for when you think you will have saved the money. xxx

I’d say go now, you can decide your surgeon decide the size and you will have everything sorted so when you have them money you can book it for as soon as you can get it. That’s what I’m doing, :) least that way it feels real for you and your looking forward to getting there! Xx

I guess it depends on what kind of finance you go for hun as I’m 22 and I’ve been told I can apply for the 12 month interest free finance option :S x

I used the piggy bank scheme, it made sense to me, no borrowing money, no loans, took me 7 months to do, and I was very self satisfied with myself. Your piggy can take as long as you like but you get in first for the dates and day cases.

Worked for me and I knew my boob journey had begun x

get a credit card and pay for your BA.

Soon as u have had ur BA get another credit card that offers 0% on balance transfers – these are usually 18months and just keep transferring balance…

pay off wot u can each month x
