I had my first check up today with my surgeon. Like expected, she said right one is just swelling and nothing to worry about, will be even out soon. I hope so :).

Did get scar sheets for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

But she confirmed what the nurse told me, no workout, upper body for 3 months. I know most of you only had 6 weeks.

What did you guys do? I am not allowed to run, which also eliminates plyometrics and jump rope which I usually do. Can only think of low impact lower body exercises now, and not sure how to break a sweat with that.

Oh no nightmare, but you have to do what the nurse says, am swelling more on onside so I hope it evens out too, I love my weights.

Your possibly struggling then by the sounds of it and you sound like you know what your on about, you can do spin, walk with a incline maybe ? As for diet, then it’s got to be high protein, low carbs for sure

Im in the same boat tbh, weights and cardio, eating clean etc n im scared of not exersising at all, im just guna leave any exersise a few weeks depending how i feel n head into the gym a few times a week n take it easy on cross trainer and walk at incline with a heavily supported bra on, the thought of not lifting weights really gets to me and i keep thinking im guna put aload of weight on :( anyone know how soon after you can do bicep curls/tri dips etc? not bothered about my chest tbh but arms n back are a must : having unders too!!

    Clean diet ftw

yea, but dips and back exercises pull lots of stress on chest muscle as well. So I will probably stay away from everything. Which sucks because I finally managed to put on some muscle on delts and back to now lose it all again in 3 months. Having a hard time putting muscle on upper body, lower body grows immediately.

Don’t panic girls, just work out your BMR (basal metabolic rate), which is the amount of calories your body needs each day to function and watch what you eat. If you don’t go over the calories you need to maintain your weight you will be fine. I am a massive exercise addict and just returned from a year travelling where it was hard to do any proper exercise except walking and hiking. I didn’t put on a pound (actually i lost 6kgs!) and all the time i was freaking out that i’d become a proper porker :) I’m already thinking the same now about my op but reminding myself to eat carefully and i will remain the same weight (well, plus the boobie weight too!). Go for lots of walks whenever you can, that also helps a lot too. x

What about the step mill for cardio? you wouldnt have to move your upper body at all then, just your legs. If you do unweighted squats (as you probably cant use weight without stress on the upper body)this is great for your abs not just your legs/glutes. Make sure your eating alot of protein. At least one gram of protein per pound of body weight and eat little and often 5-6 times a day then you may not lose as much muscle as you would without it. Unfortunatly you may have to just lose muscle on your upperbody and just work really hard after :( But you spent alot of money on your boobs so you dont want anything to risk ruining them. You gained this muscle before and you will gain it back again and this time have a lovely new pair of boobies to go with it :) xxx

Yeah i think the thought of it is just killing me!

I wanted to look good for my hols in sept but i wont start exersising again till i get back from it, we will just have to accept it and just start again when 100% ready, just make sure we keep to the diet n we shouldnt in theory put much on at all :)

Also when can you fully return to all forms of exersise? 3 months?!

6 Weeks in most cases hun. I was told 6 weeks. I went back to the gym at 3.5 weeks… naughty me lol. I just concentrated on my lower body and eased myself into it. I didnt do any upper body until 6 weeks and again just had to ease myself into it. I workout 5/6 days on 1/2 days rest depending on my routine at the time but i gave my self more rest days at first after my op and i lift heavy but i had to drop my weight and just gradually built it up. xx

sure, unweighted squats, lunges, step ups, thats all things I knew I can do, but thats really not a lot to build a good sweat when you are used to intense intervall sprints and plyometrics.

And yea I do typical bodybuilding diet, 5-6 times, protein rich, clean.

I personally stuck my normal carb free high protein diet, and walked everywhere for 5weeks, week 5 I did the lemonade detox for seven days, then the day I turned week 6 I done the 30 day shred. . Week 8 now, im slimmer and more toned than before, my ba kicked me into better shape yet I had a break :) xxx

yea, but 6 weeks is a time frame you can live with, would be only 4 more weeks. But I have 11 more weeks.
