Fitzroy Operating Theatre Closed? Surgery cancelled for 02/07/2015

Was due to have BA this Thursday. Received a call this evening to be told that the air con is not working in the theatre and therefore surgery postponed for a week… I am dubious – has anyone else had their surgery cancelled for Thursday 2nd July?

Hey Hun, it’s probably a good idea, I had my surgery yesterday and am still here, had a few extra complications due to the heat, literally in a Sauna 🙈 xx

Can totally relate! I was being violently sick for hours due to the heat in there yesterday – trust me take the new date with a smile Hun! 😄 it’s due to get even hotter too.. Better to be as comfortable as Poss. Good luck <3

Defo take the new date! I had mine on Sunday when it was slightly cooler and I was sooooo hot! I was sick aswell from the heat, dehydration they said so I was in 7:30am-8pm for a day case while they filled me with fluids xx

Same as above. I was kept in over night due to heat and complications. Horrible being hot and in pain x

Hi,
We would like to apologies for any disruption and inconvenience caused at the MYA Fitzroy Hospital. The decision to reschedule was not taken lightly and only with patient safety and comfort as the primary concern. We are suffering a technical matter with our air con that is now in the hands of the experts; most unfortunate that it has happened in the hottest week of the year so far.
