Aw huni. What are you scared of? you are right to be scared. its a natural reaction but do not stress too much. find out what is worrying you and maybe do a bit of reading on it. talk to the girls on here. I have to be honest my worst part of recovery etc was the constipation, itching from the plasters and the pain in the morning!! lol

Meditating can help or just calm thinking about the day. Run through in your mind how its going to be perfect and smooth on the day…thats what I did and it went fine!!! xx

Hey I had my op today and from my personal experience it couldn’t of gone better… I opted to stay over night as this was my first op and I didn’t know what to expect! I can tell you all the staff at highgate have been great and helped me with my nerves. This even includes my surgeon who was fab when I went to theate . Do talk to the girls here as they have been great – huge thanks everyone & don’t be afraid to ask anything or contacting your pc.

    Good luck for your opxxxx

I would say read peoples experiences of when they went in as I found this useful as I knew exactly what to expect whiched helped.. Try and stay calm I found I was nervous weeks leading up and when I was tired at night but then the days leading up excitment took over (with some nerves) but thankfully my bf was there in true form saying not to worry etc etc and I ended up telling him what was going on…. Please let me know if there is anything on your mind which I might be able to help with xx

    Hi Saz,

I know what you mean about being scared, its a whole mixed bag of emotions pre op!! I have written about my experience (now day 2 post op) have a read through of it and hopefully it will help a little. Its only natural to be worried and scared before any surgery.

I stayed overnight, so was waited on hand and foot by the nurses and I think it made my experience so much more enjoyable, not having to mess around anything – just chill and enjoy!!!

I was most of all worried I would be in a lot of pain afterwards, and yes it is uncomfy, but nowhere near painful!!!!!!!

You will be absolutely fine, just try and relax – have some chillout music, breath and think how fab your boobs will be once your all done :o)

Yes I think you are right! I didn’t feel scared before, just excited. But now it’s actually 2 weeks aaway I am

papping myself :-( the thing that worries me the most is the walk to theatre!! And then

being put to sleep in case they don’t do it right!!! Oh gosh, I dunno how I will sleep for the next fortnight. I really hope

the scared feeling gets overtaken with excitement

    again!! Xx
