The nails need to be exposed with no polish or products on so the aneathetist can check your nail bed, think its something to do with the oxygen in your blood, but i could be wrong hun,x The reason they advise no make up,theatre is a sterile area, germs could cling to makeup, and the moisturiser would stop the little sticky monitors from gripping to your skin, they need to monitor you under the anasthetic.x

double check i could be wrong, they are worried about infection thats why they give these instructions hun.xThere shouldnt be a prob wearing makeup once your out of theare.x

Hi kirsty, your lips and nail beds are the first to show signs of lack of oxygen ie turn blue. I know with all the high tech equipment they have it shouldn’t really matter but I think most anaesthatists would say remove it.

    Good luck for Wednesday XX

I was told by the nurse that they only need you to have your forefingers exposed if you wear false nails as they appreciate that they are expensive so that’s what i’m doing xx

I’m having my nail extensions removed and my gel toe polish for surgery.

I’m not bothered about the make up – think I prob scared my surgeon enough when i showed him my two little excuses for boobs… dont think i can scare him anymore than that lol.

My nails will be going back on 8days post surgery.
