Because on the news this morning if the government have their way, vat will be added to all non medical cosmetic surgery from next year. The average boob job will rise by £1000.

Stupid idea. People already scrimp and save for cosmetic ops. It’s not cheap at all. It’ll just make more people consider going abroad for ops. As we all no the procedures and after care are rarely upto the uk standards. It’ll end up costing the NHS a lot more fixing botched surgery.

Makes me mad, people think its all about vanity and it soooooo isn’t! I had nearly a cup size difference in my boobs and they were slightly tubular which affected my confidence for years. I’ve had friends mention about the VAT thing like we pay 5% VAT for essentials like sanitary products but nothing on cosmetic procedures which is for vanity. They dont know about my BA and i’ve really had to bite my tongue cos its my business but grrrrrr!!

I scrimped and saved for mine with my boyfriend and im still paying some off, another grand and it would have taken sooo much longer. Just because they can up the price doesnt mean they should, its expensive enough already and people dont just go through surgery on a whim. Its not like having a down day and going out buying a new dress to make you feel better!! Grrr sorry rant over! xx
