I have been told you cant lift anything for up to four weeks!

Dont cancel if its something you really want as you will end up regreting it!

Have you got people around who will help?

I cant imagine what it would feel like for you though because i dont have kids!

But good luck & best wishes!

Hi Tasha,I’m having an uplift and ba on 24th.I also have two young kids 3 & 1 and they’re both clingy!I was told you can’t do any lifting for a week which I think I’ll be able to manage as my mom will be around but if it’s any longer then I’m going to be in trouble!!!You’d have to see what the other experienced ladies say on here. But don’t cancel your op,just remember your doing this whilst they’re young enough not to remember that you couldn’t pick them up.Good luck x

I was told not to pick anything up for a week. After that take care when lifting. I’m planning on having lots of cuddles on the sofa. Don’t cancel, you may regret it in the future. It will be worth it in the end xxx

Aaaw thank you so much i’ll go ahead with it and just have to cuddle on the sofa. I have my partner here to help and very supportive family & friends but still my youngest only ever wants his mummy :(

My sister inlaw is going to have them for a few nights so i’ll be able to relax for a bit xx

Tasha- I had my BA on Wed, 11 Aug. I have been trying to do some dish washing and bits of house tidying up this morning. I feel a bit stiff, but I am not pressuring it. My husband had to go back to work this morning, my daughter has a week of apprenticeship. So I am left with my 9 year old son, who has been so helpful and giving me slight massages at the back. The longer you can not carry anything heavy, the better hun. Take all the help that you can have from your friends and family. Some of us tried to go back to normal routine quick as we can and end up having more pain. Remember, we all heal differently.

hi there, when i had my op last year my son was only 16 months old plus ive got a 3 year old aswell/. i felt just like you, but what i did was stay at my mums, so she cud pick my baby up etc, and she used to put him on my knee so i cud cuddle him. After 2 weeks though you can slowly start picking him up, but just be very careful.

my partner was at work so he couldnty help me throughout the day, but took over at night time, and would bath them for me, while i sat and watched and talked to them. The 2-3 weeks flies by, and before you know it you can snuggle your baby again! dont worry at all XXXXXXX

oh and to add to this, after 2 weeks i had my dressings off and i asked my surgeon if i cud lift my son, and he said to leave it another week, so in all 2-3 weeks, but you can sit them on your knee n snuggle them still, and spend loads time with them, just get your mum to help or partner, its a bit painful but not all that bad at all!!!! not as bad as you think! i had uplift aswell so should have been more painful, but i thought it was all ok. In the end you have been through child birth like me so no pain is ever like that ha ha!!. Def go ahead with it!! believe me its not all that bad at all! i got loadsa cuddles from my boys XXX
