I’m 3 weeks post op tomorrow and I’m fully back to normal now and have been for about a week.

Mind u I was hoovering at 5 days po!! Xx

    Menu

Ah thats good to hear!!! What size did you go? I can’t decide that along with Under/Over need to see Mario again! xx

You should be fine after 4 weeks hun :) I felt like myself again in around 4 days, then just had slight discomfort for maybe another week. Could drive within 2 weeks aswell :) x

    Menu

Yeah was gunna ask about driving.. I’d be lost not being able to drive!! Just concerned about being straight on placement afterwards with maybe having to move people ect… x

    Menu

Are you a nurse hun? That could be an issue, they usually advise no heavy lifting for 6 weeks. I have picked heavy things at times, forgeting about the insisions and it can be quite painful, sort of a pulling sensation!!! Best thing to do is speak to PS hun, don’t want to jeopardize you recovery XXX

Training to be yeah.. And on an 8 week placement straight after.. It doesnt look good on me but worst of worst I could get a sick note?? Speak to PS?? Yeah thats my concern too… I dont want to but guess I’d have to speak to Uni.. Mind if I add you? who was ur surgeon? : ) xxxxx

I had unders which usually have a longer recovery time than overs and I’m a support worker so I also have to move or physically restrain people. Could you not maybe ask the placement if you could have light duties for the first two weeks if need be and explain you’re recuperating from surgery (you don’t necessarily need to say what)? They might be able to accommodate you with lighter duties rather than think about a sick note.

I couldn’t be guaranteed light duties cos of my contract type so my surgeon recommended 4-6 weeks with having unders in case it put too much strain on the chest muscles. By about 4 weeks I would have felt able to return to work and do my normal duties (I ended it up leaving it longer for other reasons not BA related though). So even with unders I think by 4 weeks you should be ok.

Thanks candyfloss ♥ just not something you want to say to other women “I’ve had a BA so can I have light duties. I wouldnt let anything affect me either way my boobs are too precious haha but it just depends on the enviroment I wont find out where it is for a few weeks. I really dont want to speak to the Universitybut guess I’ll have to incase they could help with it. I have 3 weeks off at xmas but then back onto a placement again which doesnt concern lifting people but again all depends what the enviroment is… Wish i’d got it sooner but I’m just gone19 and feel now is the time dont want to wait anylonger… I forgot unders needed more recovery time. Do you feel ur unders have dropped? Thats my concern and do you know what fluff meanns? :s haha x

Yeah I understand that. Maybe see where your placement is first and go from there. I just told my employers I’d need time off as I was having surgery and needed to recover; I didn’t say what and they didn’t ask so you never know they may respect your privacy. I’m bank staff so all my time off is unpaid and I’m not based in one place it didn’t really matter to them.

I’m nearly just 6 weeks post op this week… I don’t think they have dropped, just seen my surgeon actually and he said they’ve got some more settling to do yet which has reassured me cos I’m not totally happy with the shape yet (or the size but I doubt that will change lol).

I hadn’t even seen fluffing used in this context until I started looking at these types of forums, haha. I don’t even know if it exists personally but many girls affirm it does! Basically I think it’s it’s to do with when you’ve had a BA your skin is stretched tightly and (if you have unders) your muscle is pulled tight over the implant. Eventually your skin stretches and your muscle relaxes as they accommodate the implant so it settles properly in the pocket inside your breast and the implant looks fuller in the breast as it isn’t as squashed anymore. Some girls say theirs ended up being bigger when this happens (this is the bit I don’t have much faith in happening personally, ha). x

I’m a midwife and I’m half way through my 4 weeks annual leave following my Breast Augmemtation. I feel great but I wanted to make sure I was fully recovered before I went back to work. When I do go back though I won’t be lifting/moving stuff for a further few weeks though.

I’m getting a sick note that states I can’t work for two weeks then can’t lift for a further 4, I think its better having doctors note than just telling them that you can’t lift I’ve already explained to my work and they’re fine about it and said when they have it they’ll sort something out so I can have light duties so I doubt if I didn’t have it they wouldn’t and id still be expected to lift heavy stock xx

Thanks girls! : ) really means alot because this is my biggest concern! I didn’t realise you could get a note stating you cannot lift heaving for a few weeks. Do I speak with my GP? Do you guys think that I should speak with the University?? I only supposed to have 15 days sick within my whole course.. I just need to speak with my Surgeon again.. Xx

took me about 4 weeks so u shud be fine :) x

I’m at uni too and getting mine done in the easter break when I have 3 weeks off so I’m not going to miss any, I wouldn’t tell your uni the nature of the op tho either just because they might not see it as necessary surgery and if your unfit to complete your course they might not be lenient. If you want to speak to them before your op and before you get a sick note then ask your pc for a letter off your surgeon, it just states that your having a surgical procedure and won’t be fit to work for two weeks, you can probably ask for one that says about lifting too and then at least you’ve got something to prove to them. I went and had a chat with my gp yes, just to let her know about it and ask her some questions about sick note etc, she was really nice about it xx

Thanks girls for all your comments! Really means alot. Still so undecided tho, Will Uni just take that I’m having an Op okay or will they want to know what it is? I’m deffo gunna make an appointment with my GP as Ive got a good relationship with him and already spoke with her regarding NHS implants so glad I was knocked back now I LOVE MYA haha :) :) Yea I’ve heard unders are a longer recovering process, girls how do you chose whether you want under or over? And I am really undecided with size! Like u all I want them perfect out of a bra not just in one! I hope I’m okay after 4 weeks and wish the time was here now!! Will the letter from my surgeon not state on it MYA and therefore they could sus BA. Ha ha xxx
