I read a couple of threads concerning the 7 day nurse checkup after breast surgery! I’ll shed some light on my experience today ♡
The nurse at Nottingham is just so so sweet and bubbly, I could chat with her all day! We discussed any questions I had (I had lots lol) and whether they were common problems, they all were haha! Things such as feeling air in the breast and movement. Feeling a bubbly sensation like liquid sloshing! Stretchmarks and avoiding them (or dealing with them). Sleeping – best positions and helpful techniques. Feeling like my boobs would fall out if I let go whilst walking fast or climbing the stairs (lol I know!). Lots of questions! She assured me they are all normal and nothing to worry about.
She then examined my breast shape, size and removed the bandages on my incisions. They are healing wonderfully so I’m very pleased! The chance of infection and complications scare me!
We then went over with a sheet the stages in the breasts over the weeks, loss of swelling (Madonna cone boobies) and dropping/ fluffing etc. Really helpful!
We then discussed and booked my 6 week appointment which seems so far away! She was great really! If you have any questions over the week write them down and go over them. Your aftercare is paid for and you deserve the best!
I hope this helps! ♡ xxx
