Givin up smoking..

i have my BA on monday mornin, ive tried to give up smoking an was on a countdown but it went soo quickly an its not really goin that great. i have cut down loads to what i normally smoke but i am still smokin 4fags a day. i was wonderin if it will effect my op?

i know the dr said about the healin process. i just got my fingers crossed everything goes ok xXx

I’ve tried cutting down for years, i booked op 1 week before surgery and from then had 0 or 1 fag per day, it was hard at work not explaining why i had overnight decided to quit! since the op on tuesday i haven’t had one, i haven’t even gone outside!! i’m so glad though, i’d hate to risk these boobs that i’ve wanted for so long! i’ve read from a few people how smoking meant their healing took a ridiculous amount of time due to not quitting and i’m not sure i could take this much longer!! xx

i just feel guilty now cause i reeeally wanted to giv up completely but its not happend, leavin me a lil frightend. do they ask u about the smokin on the day? an do u think theyd have an issue if i say ive had a few? i really dont wana rebook as ive waited months for this. im silly just couldnt resist, too lil too late atm lol xXx

I smoke 20 a day and as much as i tryed i was smoking 10 A day in the lead up to my op! U will be ok hun,U know the stress of givin up couid raise ur blood pressure just Really cut down x x

They do ask you on the day if you smoke, i said yes but i gave up 10 days ago, they asked me how much i used to smoke i told them 10 a day. Do tell them hun as it will let them know they need to take a bit more care with you in surgery! they won’t not let you have it i’m sure! xx

ok thanks ladies, i havent smoked that much, just a few each day but i will tell them. im gona try an stay as calm as possible cause ive been told before that they thought i had white coat phobia which made my blood pressure go to the roof, but i didnt feel worried. very strange. anyway thanks girlies xXx

Smoked 15 a day pre op and post op… only had 3 on the day of surgery… I am 14 weeks post op no complications at all x

I gave up over 3 weeks ago, never looked back! Surgery is a grest excuse to give up U want the speediest recovery possible so try your best xx

Thanks hun. I do miss it sometimes but i told myself the last time i went out on the piss, if i dont smoke tonight then i dont need to smoke ever again! And that was it. Time will tell eh? xx
