Hi girls, I’ve got my consultation booked for next week in Newcastle but just wondering how quickly everyone went back to work after surgery? I work as a waitress in a very busy bistro and just wondering how much time off is wise, I don’t want to push myself too much afterwards but also don’t want to take too much time off from work! Thanks for your help!
I’m only having 1 week off but I office work. I know most people have 2 weeks in jobs like yours xxxx
I work at sainsburys cafe in sunderland and i took a week holiday but my first day back was when i was 11 days PO, which was yesterday, but i couldnt have a better bunch of people to work with they wouldnt let me lift anything or pull anything pretty much on till and barista, i kept getting wrong for carrying trays and things lol, if your place is busy take 2 weeks off, you shouldnt be carrying trays of food for hours on end either, or scrubbing table after table, even tho its elective surgery they still have a duty of care xxx
@leigh1988 aw that’s good that you work with such an understanding bunch of people! I haven’t discussed it with my work yet and I’m a little worried what they will say, given how busy we are, but hopefully they be understanding!
Let them no as soon as, i only had 4 weeks from being accepted for the finance to my Op so they wernt happy! lol, but i work will all girls theyve all been asking how my boobs are lol xx
I’m a self employed hairdresser I have giving myself 2 weeks off just to be safe. Xx
I’m going to take a week off (when I eventually book it as it’s still research and a secret!) . Hoping that’s enough although I work with kids so I may regret it but actually can’t take more than a week off at a time.
I work in my local B&Q right now so I’m going to take 2/3weeks off at least as i’ll be lifting a lot of stuff whether I’m on the checkouts or in my department (paint)…
I’m a hairdresser and I had 2weeks off.. Everyday got better after the first week. So you should be ok. Just don’t lift to heavy plates take your time more.. And don’t over stretch I had to ask people to ask me to get colour from the rack (only 5″2) couldn’t reach much anyway haha but didn’t want to over stretch my stitches. xx
