Do I need to take anything with me girls?
x
Good luck love!
Thanks hun x
You will be happier when you get out! You have us as soon as you get out.
No, you don’t need to take anything. woohoo, nearly your turn!!
xx
Soooo…
I went to the pre-op, which was absolutely fine. BUT the nurse was like ”we need to send a letter to your GP” (due to some personal problems I had last year) I said it was absolutely fine… she then continued to say ”oh well it’s not going to get to her in time is it? Your operation is on Friday right?”
… WTF? So what happens if it doesn’t get to my GP in time? And Dr Singh won’t do the op unless he has confirmation from my GP that I’m in the right state to have this op? I’m pretty much f*cked right?
Grrrrrrrr
Cant you ask the GP for a copy of the letter and fax yourself so that the surgeon gets it before friday.xxx
Okay, that’s really unfair. How comes your pre op was so late? They should have done it all in plenty of time.x
Also Tina, can you personally speak to your GP and explain the situation, surely they can’t cancel the op? Also, of course it can get there on time, we live in the modern age, they can email, or fax, and the response can be sent on the same day. Be strong babe, hopefully it’ll be fine xxx
Sorry Kateelou…ha it’s a bit early for me…need more coffee
I’m really panicking because I don’t want my op cancelled.
The nurse said that it’ll be down to Dr Singh at the end of the day to go ahead with the operation without the confirmation from my GP.
The only problem is, the receptionists at the surgery won’t just let me speak to my doctor over the phone. And if I want to book an appointment with her, then it could be 2 weeks down the line before I actually get to see her!!!
WTF am I going to do??
If you can’t see your gp, write her a letter. The receptionist has to give it to her. Just explain you’re unable to see or speak to her and then explain what’s happening. She may call you for a chat x
The receptionists are right assholes though.. excuse the rudeness lol, but I’ve tried speaking to my GP before and they just won’t let it happen.
They are really rude
Yeah mine can be quite rude too. But if you hand in a letter in an envelope with your gp’s name on it and with urgent and private and confidential written on it, she has to pass it on. If she asks what it is, just say it’s from another doctor you saw at hospital or something.x
But what should I write in the letter?
I have already seen my GP, a little while ago now and she said that it was fine for me to have the surgery… I just can’t understand why they would have waited 5 days before my operation to send the letter?
VERY bad organisation I would say.
babe do what i do!!! tell em its a medical emergancy and get the doc to call u… tell em u have a rash or something, then when the docs call explain to them the situation….. it is, after all an emergance… xxxx
Lol I can’t do that!!
I’ll have to find some way of talking to her tomorrow… because I will go mad waiting about until Friday to see whether or not Dr Singh will do the op without confirmation
x
Just write that mya want to know if you’re in a fit state to have surgery and you’re worried that it won’t be done in time for friday, and ask if she is able to contact mya in time x
Thanks hun
I’m going to call them as soon as they open tomorrow morning and see how that works out first. If that fails then I’ll write a letter to her, or see if I can email her or something.
The receptionist can’t exactly not help me out? My op is Friday and I need her confirmation.
You’ve been a great help, hope you’re okay? Healing well etc? x
Let me know how it goes, fingers crossed for you!
I’m good thanks, the swelling is starting to go down because I’ve been sat with hot water bottles under my arms lol. Can’t wait for them to soften though, I’m so impatient xx
