Going home after op more than an hour away?

I’m having abit of a panic…. I had my pre op on Tuesday and no blood test yippee but she recommended staying atleast an hour away from the hospital … I live 2 and a half hours away and my friend who is coming with me can’t stop over night so I’m going to have to come home. Has anyone else travelled home? Also I’m worrying abit about my doctors, I signed the letter etc then realised in the night I bet my doctors haven’t got my new address (the one in my Mya letter) so I rang up the next day and they told me I’m now out their catchment area and I need to move doctors … Tried contacting my PC but she’s not replying to me. Any ideas? P.s my ops on 21st December x

Hey I live 3.5 hours away from where I had my op. I just told the nurses on the day I was staying close by any families house but we drove back and it was fine x

Ok I wont say a bean, I’m sure my bf would drive me back if there was problems x

I’ve got my op next week, I live 2 and a half hours away but my boyfriend is driving me home after because I’d rather be at home than a hotel. I’ve told them I won’t be staying near by and they said that’s fine xxx

Glad you asked this coz I only live an hour and fifteen mins away and wanted to go home esp with my girls and husband coming with me but wasn’t sure if we had to go back to hospital the next morning…..now I’m just going to go straight home!! Hope u get it sorted with your doctors!!!xx

I stayed in a beautiful hotel the night before (treat from my hubby) made it so much easier as i live 3 hrs away from the hospital.. i went home straight away after my op i was asked about it by the nurse and had to tell a fib lol.. i took my v pillow and a duvet.. we stopped off for refreshments.. i managed no problem.. i was on tramadol though.. im glad i went straight home it was lush being bk xx
