Got a cold an cough an worried i won't b able to have op

It says in booklet that if uv got a cold, flu or unwell that u may not b able to hav op! Don’t wana risk tellin nurse incase they cancel op bt they obviously don’t go ahead with it for a reason!! Wat to do?? Help plz x

i had tonsilitis last week and was on penicillin for a week, finished taking my tablets yesterday and am having my op on tues. i rang and spoke to the nurse and she has no problem, neither does the surgeon. they said that as long as i felt ok and the infection had gone there wouldnt be any problem.

they dont want u taking aspirin as it thins the blood, but just take lots of paracetomol and ibuprofen and u should feel better soon, drink loads, and take vitimins. trust me u will feel better before u know it and will still be able to have the op!

i dont think they like operating when the infection is still there as it could complicate things, but i would defo speak to the nurse anyway.

I don’t feel ill realy, think my cough is coz iv gave up smoking. Hoping it will b fine, been takin paracetamol an hot ribena lol as I’m worried wa I can an cant take haha! Worryin about everything I do lol

My ops tuesday too!! 1pm iv been booked in for, I thaught thu was early by obv not lol! Gutted it’s lyk waitin another day haha xx
