Had a weird white bit on my incision ever since I had my BA & I just thought that it was a bit of skin. However tonight I started picking at it & it’s like a piece of white thread/string coming out of me!? I had stitches protruding & they were like wire & my surgeon picked them out of me last week so why didn’t he notice that :s Want to snip it off but then I’ll still have it inside of me :S tried tugging at it with tweezers but it’s well & truly stuck in me. WTF!?

its a migrating stitch hun i had 3 over the course of the first 2 months, i wouldnt worry about it, you can either get the nurse to trim it, or eventually it will come away on its own, i played with mine and pulled them out, it left a tiny red hole which quickly healed up, honestly its really common and nothing to worry about xx

It’s not like my other stitches were though? They were like wire, why is this one like white string? :/ Thanks though xxx

Yeah, it’s a stitch. I had loads. In fact, once I’d realised what it was, I was feeling for them and pulling them out myself!! Some stick a bit, but loosen, others come right out.

The stitches break down over time, so whereas they start off really hard and like fishing line type stuff, they turn into stringy bits and eventually dissolve. My body was throwing them out for months!!!! But I had an uplift too, so much more stitches. :)
