GP rung and said MYA requested letter from them ??? xx

My GP just called me and said MYA has requested a letter regarding more info about my general health and that they will charge me to do this. Anyone else had this? Is it necessary? Xx

I would think if they have requested it,it must be required honey.xxx

I had it hun but didn’t get charged! I got told my op would b postponed if the gp letter wasn’t ok. I rang my gp told him that and he faxed a letter straight to them. Can’t believe urs want to charge you! How much? X

They won’t tell me how much they said it depends what info is required and they will invoice me after it done … My health is fine I don’t have any problems I think would mean they’d need additional info but I did agree at my pre-op that they could talk to my GP but didn’t realise there would be a charge. I’ve just called MYA waiting for them to get back to me coz my GP said he’ll get the letter done today if I get back to him and give the go ahead. I hope it doesn’t get postponed!! xx

I thought it was upto you wether to tell your GP or not. I don’t want MYA just randomly contacting them if I haven’t told my GP I’m having a BA anyway?!?! I was told I didn’t have to?! x

I’m sure it won’t hun. That’s well cheeky not telling you til after they send the letter. I think all he would hav to say is that he supports ur BA and doesn’t see any medical reason it can’t go ahead. How much can it cost to say that . Hope mya get back to you soon.

My GP would deffo charge for it, mine charge for everything! xx

Good luck honey,I don’t think the charge will be very much,my surgeon needed a blood test before my op,it was’nt with MYA,my GP charged £28.00,xxxx

This is strange as MYA didn’t even tell my GP. Maybe it’s different surgeons? After my op, they gave me a letter to pass to my GP next time im in, but I haven’t been in yet so Im still sitting with the letter x

I know apparently its because its not nhs they are charging me to do it. If I’d known that I would have said they couldn’t contact them. Hope MYA get back to me soon I’m worrying enough about op as it is don’t want more worrying xx

They usually charge about £25 for that sort of thing hun. not much. its how the nhs doctors earn their extra pennies lol xx

Just want to say though that since I wrote this post my PC and MYA Mod have contacted me so thanks to both of them for getting back to me so quick xx

i was told to inform my GP and i rang my GP and they said i had to come and speak to the nurse! did MYA not tell you to contact your doc? its just to make sure you’re not undergoing any diagnostic testing and in full health. call MYA,x

I called MYA and they said because I’m healthy I don’t need the letter anymore, but my PC said if I can just get them to fax it over just incase. Its only a tenner so I’m just going to go to my GP in the morning a pay it and get them to fax it over to MYA. 3 more sleeps! Xx
