Drove nearly 2 hours to have my blood taken at my pre op n she couldn’t get any out of me 🙁 such a fear of blood, wanted it all over n done with now having it done next week at my gps, anyone else have any probs? Xx
oh babe! You need to drink loooads of water before you have it taken, apparently that helps xx
Awww Hun so sorry to hear that. Did they give any advice of anything that would help for next time? x
Yeahh drunk loads but think it was because I was tense..silly me, I managed to relax but still nothing. my veins suck! Better luck next time aye 🙂 xx
I have really bad veins too the needle has to stay in my arm for about 5 mins and stil nothing comes out so they try other arm and I’m left with massive bruises 🙁 cant you get fuel money or anything that’s so far to drive! X
Aww It’s horrible isn’t it I have such a big fear of blood too :/ I’m not sure I could always ask..what’s the worst that could happen xx
I had the same, I walked out of MYA looking like a drug addict, six times in one arm, three the other and not a drop came out, went to the nurse at my GP, she was so shocked at the mess of my arms and got it first time no hassles, I fecking hate needles xx
Ahh Joannabella you’ve made me feel soo much better so worried about next weds part ll of facing my fear!! Yaaay xx
At MYA they tried to use a tricky vein apparently, which is why they failed, I have very thin veins anyways, but the nurse who is used to doing daily bloods and on a range of people got it first time and I didn’t feel the need to hit her, lol!
Just try to relax and breathe deeply, I know it’s very hard, but think of the new assests coming 🙂 xx
If its any help I have to have blood tests every 2 weeks due to medication I take & my blood test at mya was the most pain free one I’d ever had, I just looked the other way & I didn’t even know she’d done it – it was amazing! The nurse was Larissa at fenchurch street x
