Gutted about my nails!

Well I had my pre op yesterday and was told my nails must come off. I only had them infilled last week and now I have to pay for them to come off and then pay to have them put back on. I don’t know why I thought these types of nails would be ok, I hadn’t realised it was to see my nail bed I thought it was incase one fell off or something lol
The nurse said she had never seen someone look so sad about their nails. I’ve only just recently got into having them done.
So if you’re like me don’t get them infilled too soon before you’re due to have your ba. Also I thought 1 June was next Monday realised today its Tuesday! Gutted now I’ve got another day before I get big boobies!
On the plus side I am now definate that I am having 460cc overs high profile as opposed to the 410cc.

Yeh its so then can measure how much oxygen is in ur body while ur being operated on!just think though nails or boobs?and I’m sure getting ur nails off will be worth it for new boobs!xx

i had my acrylic overlays when i had my op , just no nail varnish !x

The fake tan thing gettin 2 me im in on tuesday one more day of lookin like mrs milk bottle i look so rough its worth it x not lookin forward 2 being in pain in this heat next wk

i put a top on when i had my spray tan and got sprayed regardless, so i didnt have 2 go without a tan x

Hi girliess .. Im slightly confuzled over this nail thing .. I have acrylics with a manicure and a pattern on 1 finger .. Had my pre-op on friday expecting the nurse to tell me to take them off .. But she said I can have them done but only with a manicure look and no pattern .. Confused.com

i think they have to be able to pinch ur finger nail and see the colour it turns after ur anastetic?? so clear would be okay not patterned i think xx

Yes clear acrylic nails are fine no varnish etc xx

i only had 2 take 2 acrylic nails off it was the finger nxt 2 ur thumb? xx

Oh mine are french polished so clear with white tips, I think I’ll speak to my pc before I have them taken off then. xx

I’ve just taken mine off and lost all my own nails in the process! Not happy!!! Not to worry, I’m going to get them re-done as soon as I can (my op is a week Tuesday). Best thing about where I go, they offer a loyalty card, so I can get them 1/2 price next time round – fab!!!!

Personally I’m more worried bout not being able to use moisturiser, my face will dry up like a prune if I wash in soap. Must take some baby wipes instead LOL! ali

Hi girls, it’s because they have to put something called an oxygen saturation probe on your index finger, it’s just a plastic clip type thing but it uses infra red light to measure the amount of oxygen in your blood. It could possibly go on your big toe though but it’s not ideal. You could just get the nails taken off the index finger but it depends how strict your anaesthetist is, which you obviously won’t know til the day. As someone else has said though, it’s for your own safety and I’d rather know I was being properly monitored whilst under a general anaesthetic to be honest x
