    Hi all,

Went for my first consultation (out of 4 diff companies lol) with MYA today and it went really well apart from the price =/ Prices going up from 1st April and it’s now £4100 for day case and £4500 for overnight stay…and think that is with the cheaper 10 year gauruntee implants so add £450 (i think?) to that for the lifetime gauruntee ones and you’re looking at a stupid amount of money I think! Gutted to be honest but heyho..have to see how the others go..might end up going to Belgium! x

Please don’t go abroad! Just save and get your surgery here, it’s not too bad xx

    Menu

It’s more expensive with the upgraded implants hun, they are using them as standard now, but you can opt for the cui range still and pay less ( pretty sure that’s right) xx

I am honestly not sure about if those of you that have already been quoted prices will have to pay more all she said to me was that prices are going up on the 1st April and also the special offer (whatever that is think it was 250 quid off?) is ending this month too grr gutted lol.Don’t panic though people because I am sure if they’ve quoted you a price they can’t just go back on it surely? Maybe give your patient co-ordinator a ring and discuss? Dolly92 I know it’s a bit risky it’s just so cheap but then I suppose there is a reason why. Someone said to me it may be VAT increase on cosmetic surgery. The cost isn’t going up on rhinoplasty (my friend has a consultation for that) just boobies! =(

    xx

    Menu

if you pay your deposit now it secures the quote you were offered! xx

Missv35 I told MYA that transform quoted me 3500 for daycase so they matched it! It’s worth a try that was with standard implants and had my op on Monday at Preston, if the price has gone up you might still get it down to 3750 or something I hope this helps xx

Hi jessloveridge ooo that’s interesting! I did feel quite comfortable with MYA so it would be good if I could get a bit off..do they still knock some money off for short notice surgery does anyone know? I sound like a right cheapskate! :S

    Thanks hun xx

It’s just really not worth risking your health and well being just to save a couple of hundred pounds….can’t you just wait? It’s cheap because the regulations surrounding cosmetic surgery aren’t as stringent as here and they use cheap implants like Eurosilicone which are of a poorer quality as opposed to the implants they use in the UK…plus you will probably end up paying near enough the same price with a hotel, flights and airport transfers. I really don’t think it’s a smart move and I urge you to have your surgery in your own country.

I personally could never go to a foreign country to have surgery as there is no way I would take a ‘risk’ with my breasts and I really don’t see the point but good luck…! x

I agree dolly92, just an idea as one of my friends has recently had rhino and BA in Belgium and it’s all gone well but you never know. I did wonder why it was cheap so that’s just answered it thanks hun! I thought regulations might be a bit different…hmm think I shall stay in UK and just stop being stingy ha ha thanks x

It’s best to stay in your own country where you are familiar with your surroundings/language; yes there are some success stories but it’s far more trouble than it’s worth! x

Totally agree with Dolly. And what about if you had complications? Would you have to fly back there for post op check ups etc?surely that would cost more in the long run anyway. I really don’t think it is worth the risk Hun. Surely your health and body is worth the best that you can give it. I know its expensive but you are gona have the implants for a long time and you get what you pay for. Good luck with your decision huni :-)

Well i considered going abroad because altho britain may have better regulations we are also living in “rip off land” So anyway i had an “internet consultation” with a slovakian company and the woman was disgustingly rude. Also the Before and after image was no different so that put me right off im sticking to british

Hiya, as long as u research the company its upto u and how comfortable u feel going away. i know some companies like mills and mills (who are part of the hosp group) have their consults here and check ups ere .

if its the price ur worried about and thats whats pushing u abroad then maybe u should have a hard think. as for the legal side i maybe being a complete thiicko here but i thought we were all part of the E.U and have the same laws which is why the PIPs were passed here too.

id say do whatever u feel comfortable with hun, but its a big op and.i suggest loads of research as u dont.wanna regret going abroad to save a few hundred.xx

Missv35 – its crap the prices have gone up and yes in an ideal world avoiding surgery abroad woupd be my advice, however, as long as you stay within the EU and have a proper aftercare agreement in place you should be fine. I know of a lot of women who have traveled to belguim and had fabe results, some even had complications post op and were looked after a lot better than some of the women on here. The implants have to be passed as safe like the pips were…..and look how that turned out even in the UK. In this country a lot of implants that are used are the same as those you would get abroad. If you can save the extra money hun then try, if not, thers are other options xx

p.s excuse the spelling…on my crappy phone xx

PS if you were to fly back due to complications quite soon after your op you open yourself up to a load of potential health problems…a DVT (blood clot) being one of the most serious. There’s just no way you can be given the high standard of aftercare that is offered here as your surgeon will be in a different country and may not be able to deal with any potential problems you may have.

I would steer well clear of all that. I personally think MYA offers some of the most competitive prices in the cosmetic surgery industry…it’s really not that bad. You would pay much more if you were to go to a private clinic.

But I stand by what I said, just not worth it. x

I’m registered on another forum and there’s a lot of American ladies on there and from what I gather, a lot of girls from the USA come here to get bigger boobs as the silicone implants over there only go up to 800cc’s…If they want to go bigger than that then they have to switch to saline over fills, but a lot of women prefer the feel of silicone and obviously in this country you can get custom made silicone implants up to 2000cc’s so that’s what you might have heard xx

Haha! Yeah I have 800cc’s now and I like them but they look so much bigger in clothes…when I take my bra off I feel like they’re small so I’m getting a re op to maintain the fullness that I had straight after my op as they’ve shrunk quite a bit xx

Hi missv35, what other companies have you got consultations with? Are those prices the same? Maybe MYA will do what they done with jessloveridge & do a price match if you tell them that you would prefer to go with them rather than another company? I really wanted to go with MYA but I’m a student and couldn’t afford their prices but found another company that I’m really happy with so far and around a grand cheaper, my ops on wednesday :) xx

Dolly92 I am excited for you & your mahoosive boobs to be!! haha 😆

Hi Sophie, Omg how exciting is that!!! Good luck for Wednesday!! :D I have 4 other places yet which are (hope I am allowed to say this, don’t know if this forum is against talking about other companies :?)

Harley Medical Group tommorow, then I have Transform, The Hospital Group, Dr Plovier at BE clinic in Belgium and I am also looking into Harley Street Surgery too..Maybe I am being over the top but I just want to be 100 percent sure & not get completely ripped off too!

I suppose what I need to do is just go to all of them & then sit down and think about which one I feel most comfortable with and if it is MYA I would hope they may match the price but I am not so sure especially with these price increases :( but it’s worth a try asking anyway!

Who did you choose to go with if you are allowed or are comfortable to say? xx

    Menu

I think a lot of girls on here have gone through other companies, I’ve definitely spoken to a few anyways, I’m going with NU Cosmetic Clinic, as soon as I told people on here they all started saying they were rubbish, etc but I understand a lot of people are faithful to MYA & I’m more than happy with them so far but only time will tell won’t it :) if I’m honest I think their service has a far better quality than some of the stories I’ve read on here about MYA but I do understand that a lot of people do get great service with them & also don’t want to praise too highly of NU yet as ‘people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones’ I still have a lot of my journey left so can’t comment on a lot yet but will be sticking around on here after so will let everyone know how I get on with them :) xx

Oh yes I have heard of them, I could try contacting them too see what kind of prices etc they offer…jeez I’m have a full diary 😆 I will definetely look out for any of your posts to see how you get on! Excited for you! :D are you on that sofeminine forum too? xx

Wow blondie90 I’m not surprised you went, that’s so cheap for nipple lift too. Does double bubble not correct itself eventually? A lot of girls on here have had it after having lower incisions. And is it not even more expensive to have a re-op or is it different if its just corrective surgery? Xxx
