I’m 20dpo, I bought an air walker, and i’ve started doing that the last couple of days. Only for 30/40 minutes, but I had to do something. I’ve put on half a stone since my op! I can’t go out walking due to work/ family, so it was my only option. I am going to venture back to the gym at some point, but only work legs until after my 6 week check x

This is something I’d be interested in knowing too. It’s going to drive me mad not going to the gym but know I obviously need to take it easy however would be good to know what people did to ease themselves back into things and whether they were able to do light (non bouncy) cardio and legs.

I went back to the gym after 5 weeks and just did lots of cardio. Didn’t do any running but things like the stepper, cross-trainer and rowing machine and I was fine. Just avoid weights and I could not do sit ups. It was very embarrassing!! I didn’t realise how heavy they were on my chest. I am a massive gym goer and was desperate to get back in. Just take it easy. You know your body limit! Xx

@natalie-2 3wpo I went back to the gym as it was doing my head in sitting at home. I did cardio and some squats, lunges and abs all using body weight. Did a lot of cardio that week using bike and stepper, then 4WPO I tried legs with low weight and high reps that felt ok. As soon as I was signed off at 6WPO I trained back, shoulders and arms from that week. I was quite cautious in training chest tbh until around 3MPO the thought scared me lol but it feels fine now xx

    Hey ladies.

I’m planning on going back in the gym next week, which will be just over 5 weeks post op.

I’m planning on doing the cross trainer to warm up & then training legs & bum.. things like crab walks with resistance band, glute bridges, leg press, general lunges & body squats. Would they be all okay & feel okay?

Any other things I could do in the gym to start being active again?? @rscj @gemmyb @hannahlaura

I’ve been back since 4wpo and doing spinning classes, treadmill , cross trainer, stepper and stair master. As well as working bums and legs (using strength and weight machines). The only things i’ve found uncomfortable is some of the moves during spinning, and running felt a bit odd at first… make sure you have a really good sports bra for cardio! xxx

@beaux123 I think you’ll be fine doing all of that! I was doing weights by 6WPO so you should be fine. Listen to your body, it will tell you if something doesn’t feel right xx

Yeah cardio is absolutely fine. Just go careful with weights. I’ve had to drop down 2kg for my ab weights and I can really feel it strain on my scars. Like Hannah said your body will tell you how much you can do. Just don’t push yourself, you’ve paid a lot for the new boobies so just pace yourself xx
