Had my 1 week post op check today & the nurse didn't put on steri strips =S

All she did was take the dressings off, no steri strips!

I didn’t ask at the time cos I didn’t know this was the norm until I spoke to my booby buddie who also had her 1 week check today.

Did anyone else not get steri strips on their scars??

Hey, I asked her for some to take home with me & popped some on when I got back…..All chemists sell them… I bought some more & kept using them for about 2 weeks after.. I was so paranoid of rubbing them against the bra x

I just called the 24hr nurse and she said it’s nothing to worry about. If the scars look like they are healing very well then some nurses don’t put steri strips on…..

I’m stil a little worried tho. My macom doesn’t touch the scars as I put it way below them.

Do you think i should get some steri srips???

Also how have u girls been drying ur scars…..hair dryer or towel??

i only had to wear my steri strips for 3 days then my nurse said to soak them off in the bath so i have got nothing on them now and they seem fine hun and i pat my scars dry with a clean towel xx

I had mine on ties and she didn’t put any on me either xx

I had mine today and had steri strips put on. It might just be that your scars are healing very well. If you’re really concerned then go back for some, or pop to your local chemists who will have some.

depends on how closed your scars are hun, mine were fine so I didn’t need them x

I had my 7 day check on monday she put steri strips on and told me to keep them on for 1 week def no longer! and to use hairdryer to dry them after shower x

ps she did say they were healing fantastic and showed me in mirror so dont know why she put them on

i had mine taken off at 8 days post op, no steri strips the nurse said they were healing lovely so i think every1 is different, also i just pat mine with a towel after a shower.
