Hi girls! So the wait is over and I finally have boobs. I didn’t go with mya as I’m from Scotland and there are no mya clinics here but I thought id still share my story as I found this helpful throughout my journey so far.
I arrived at the hospital for about 10:20am (I was meant to be here for 11am but they phoned to get me up earlier) although I’m unsure why as my surgery wasn’t till 4pm, the nurse/surgeon were even puzzled by this but they did apologise as there must have been a mix up. I got to my room and the patient clerk showed me around and how to use the bed and the television. I wasn’t waiting long before a staff nurse came and asked me a few questions (nothing I hadn’t been asked before) such as, do I have any allergies and asked me to take a pregnancy test as I wasn’t able to give an exact date to when my last period was. Also, I took the contraceptive pill and discussed this with my surgeon who said it didn’t bother him whether I stopped taking it or not before surgery. I wasn’t going to stop but I started to worry and decided to stop a little over two weeks ago.
Being at the hospital so early was quite nerve wracking as it gave me a lot of time to over-think things especially as it got closer. My surgeon came in about 3 o’clock (Mr Ben Chew who btw is such a nice man and totally honest with you from the behginning) just to mark my chest and help me into my hospital gown. He told me I would be taken a little earlier but by the time the nursing staff came with the trolley my surgery took place around 4pm anyway. All staff were lovely at Rosshall hospital in Glasgow especially straight before my surgery as I think they could tell I was starting to freak out so they reassured me but spoke to me a lot and asked what I did for a living etc just to keep my mind off it. They kept me informed on exactly what was going to happen and next thing I know, I was woken up. I did wake up in a lot of pain and my chest felt heavy, I also had really numb forearms which probably bothered me the most so the pain couldn’t have been that bad haha. I felt exhausted and they gave me paracetamol through a drop to help with the pain which kicked in very quickly. I shut my eyes for 2 hours however I never actually fell asleep which was weird as I couldn’t keep my eyes opened. The nurses kept coming in to check on me and take my blood pressure etc, I mentioned I felt sick everytime I sat up so they gave me an injection in my thigh for nausea (probably the sorest part but it did help a lot) I went to sleep about half 10!l and have woken up twice, once at 12am and once now. I’m not in a great real of pain at all but just sore when I move so I did ask for pain killers not too long ago as I plan to go back to sleep and don’t want to wake up too sore. I had to have my mum help me to the bathroom earlier but have managed to go myself since which is a great sign (may be tmi but I have struggled to pass urine even though I certainly need)!
It’s hard to tell how everything will pan out but so far I have had a peek at my boobies and they look great. I had 365tsfx in one and 385tsfx (I think the tsfx just means that they are high profile and I also could be saying it wrong)
under the muscle. As I said, it’s hard to tell just now but I’m happy so far even though they’re like rocks on my chest and very high up but I know they have A LOT of settling in to do. I can’t thank Mr Chew and they rest of the staff enough they have all been great ❤️
Ps. Pics to follow in a few days ?
