has anynoe got tongue piercing?

Hey girls I have my ba soon, I’ve been told that i have to remove all piercings. I’m not to bothered about removing any of them but just a bit concerned about my tongue piercing, ive been told the hole could close within a hour of removing?? Has anyone else got their tongue pierced? If so did you use plastic piercings? and can you get plastic piercings for the tongue???

Hi you can get plastic ones but still have to have it out for the tube to go in ur mouth they don’t want to catch it. Mine was fine just put it in when I got back to my room xx

Hi i have my tongue pierced, i took mine out just as the nurse took me down to theatre, i was back in my room within an hour and the hole had started to close under my tongue, i pushed the bar through and it didn’t hurt, think i was prob still a bit out of it. Not sure about a plastic bar i was told to remove all piercings xx

Hey hun i took my tongue piercing out for a momth and it went through fine when i wanted it back in, im sure it wont close up xx

i took mine out for my cosmetic gynae, out for like 4 hours it was. went back in fine 🙂

Mine was out for a good few hours. Completely fine to put back in after. How recent dis you get the piercing? xx

How long have you had it for? If it remove it JUST before you go down and put it back in right away you should be ok. Some Drs wont allow plastic bars at all as they can melt during surgery, metal causes burns which one of the reasons we need to remove them. Good luck x
