i have never been told i have to stay 30 mins away from the hosp :S does this mean any hospital or the hospital u had ba at? eg highgate? i really dont want to stay in a hotel afterwards i just wanna go home that was the whole point of me having a day case. i live like 30 seconds away from a hospital in south london so i can go there if any complications x

if you dont stay 30 min from the hospital and something happens in the first 24 hours and you have to go to your local hospital your aftercare is void due to not following the guidlines, they ask you to stay because the first 24 hours are the most crucial to your healing and its when your most likely to get a haematoma, even though only 1% of patients get them xx

when i had mine done, i wanted to stay with my uncle who is a head nurse in a private hospital in london he lived around 1.15 min from highgate, i mentioned he would be able to deal with me if i had any complications and my nurse told me, he couldnt do anything, coz basically he couldnt do anything coz it goes against the guidelines if you have a problem in the first 24 hours you HAVE to go back to the hospital that done your surgery xx

I’m a re augmentation case so Im an overnight case. Dippy I know, but I never thought to ask, does that mean that I have surgery during the day and then stay overnight so I can go gone the next morning ? They said I have to have a relative drive me home or pay £250 and be driven home by a mya driver? So why can’t we take a train home. I’m booked in at fitzroy on 1 June and I live around 4 hours drive away. Difficult for my hubby to drive me home as means hed have to look after our 3 little ones overnight in London in a hotel and then drive us all home, whichd mean I’d have to sit upright all the way ome. Has anyone taken the train home for a long journey?

Tamtam1, I was advised not to use public transport for the journey home – you should ask your nurse though.

Beckie, I asked Julie my PC about going home xx

Im a three hour drive away staying in a hotel 5mins from the hospital im not riskin anything goin wrong after wrkin so hard to save all that money I would be so angry with myself if something went wrong n for one night away from home? Wud much rather stick to the rules for the first time in my life so for 6 whole weeks after my op im goin tob the most boring person alive if I was a.boob surgeon n someone came bk that hadnt followed the guidelines n id spent time trying to give them perfect boobs to make them happier I would be so pissed off!! The guidlines r ther for ur safety not thers my friend went private for a stomache staple went home n ended up in r crappy local hospital in a coma surgery is a big thing for ur body to go thru he was in that coma 2months he couldnt b treated when he first got ther because doctors had to wait for his notes from the private hospital wer as if hed been close to the private hospital his notes wud have been on hand n he might not of ended up in that coma. We all want to get bk to normal asap but is it worth it for.a.day away from home? Xx

Girls I’ve just spoken to my PC and she said it’s recommended that u stay close by but nothing will ever be void so no need to worry now!! Its just a reccomendation you don’t have to do it. I’ll be going home as soon as they say I’m free to go xx
