    Hi

    I hope you can help.

I am considering Mr Adamo for Labiaplasty, however I can only see BA reviews for him. Has anyone on here used him and please can you let me know if you are happy with it afterwards? Mainly want to know that it is even and looks “normal” afterwards? Also some advise on recovery times would be great!

Would really really appreciated some advice or feedback as I am really scared!

    Thanks a lot :-)

hi i had mine done on the nhs it was free, and happy with results its really not that painfull at all. it also heals really quickly. it looks pretty much the same but neat and tidy. i had disolvable stitches down there wich felt strange and there was quite a lot of swelling. it looks awful when you first have it done but it all goes down and its really worth it really fast recovery. hope this helps any more questions just ask x x x x x jewlia

Thanks Jewlia for your quick reply!!

I do have a few questions if thats ok? I am very scared and also doin this completely alone e.g. not telling anyone i know!

Did you get it on the NHS because it was more for physical reasons e.g. discomfort than for how it looks? I ask because I have been refered to an NHS gyno, but really its more embrasseement for me that I want it done. However I belive they only do it on the NHS if its causing you pain/ uncorftable (mine is occasionally uncomfortable but not that bad).

Also can you tell me if it was a gyno or a cosmetic surgeon that did the op throught the NHS? And lasty do you know if they used the wedge technique?

    Thanks so much!!

    xx

hey scared i had it for both reasons just said it hurt on my clothing and whilst i was having sex i did not mention any cosmetic reasons. my gp was a man he did not even look at my bits he just reffered me to gyno. it all happened really fast my surgeon was the same guy that delivered my babies wich was wierd .dont know what he did i did not ask sorry i was just glad to get rid of the extra skin. it was 6 years a go now i had never even heard of a labiaplasty.

the nhs was fantastic only had to get my bits out once at my first consultaion it was not as enbarassing as i thort. you will be fine not telling anyone the op is that pain less you will be fine i was in and out in about 12 hours hope this helps best thing i have ever done x x x x x x x

    Hi Girls,

Had the Labiaplasty done with Mr Adamo, im very sore but am so so so happy, i just wished i got it done sooner, Mr Adamo was so lovely and the hospital was really nice. If you want to know anything else please let me know as i had tried to do some research on it and every1 seems to be having BA :( :-)

    Hi Katy

Glad to hear you are so happy with it hun! I knopw what u mean all the reviews are for BA’s!

I was wondering if I get it done and book 2 weeks off work, will that be enough time do you think, I work in an office and do not want them to know, just wanna book two weeks off and then come back still able to walk etc so no one suspect, what do you think? And how bad is the pain?

    Thanks!.

    xx

    Hiya,

Ummm well i think you would only need a week, im still walking a bit funny but i think another few days and i will be fine.

Sitting down for a long time is abit painfull so if you cant get up and walk about in your job it might be best to have 2 weeks off.

The pains it fine, i havent taken any pain killers, its more of a stinging pain (especially when you go for a wee) so i have just been having lots of baths in Savlon.

When are you hoping to have it done? have you met Mr Adamo yet?

Thanks Katy that reassures me so so much about the pain, I can handle that!

Well I have met Mr Adamo who is so so lovely, but I cannot afford it. I am going to go to Mr Singh who I have heard is an amazing surgeon too (although again all the reviews are for BA’s). Have you heard of him? I also have an NHS consultation soon and i think I may be able to swing it to get it through them, but I am scared about if it will look ok afterwards as an NHS gyno may not be as experience in cosmetics/may not care how it looks (they will only do it because of the uncofrtable reason).

Let me know how your getting on hun

I had mine a month ago, it doesn’t look great when you 1st have it done because of the swelling and I was worried, but a month on now and it looks fab! MYA do finance which is good and I wouldnt have been able to do it without this but I skimped for a few months, put £500 down on my 1st consultation and another £500 before my op. I have always been weiry of NHS because with this procedure once its gone its impossible to get the tissue back and I do want it to look nice. Iv put it off for years as most people do with this procedure and im yet to see someone who doesn’t wish they had dione it sooner! I was scared so I have no room to talk but honestly the best money iv ever spent :) xx

    Hi,

YAY some one else whose had it done!! I know what you mean about the swelling and it doesnt look perfect atm but i am so happy with it, it was the best money i had ever spent! how long did it take for your swelling to go?

scared- See what the NHS say but i am a nurse and altho i dont work in that side of it they will not see it the same what a cosmetic surgen does. If you can do it on finance i soooooo would!

    Hope it goes well,

    x

Hi Girls, so please to have found this forum! I would love to get labiaplasty done, but I definetly wouldnt want to tell anyone so would be going it alone! have you all had them done in different areas? the doctors you are talking about, do they only do certain places? Ive been building the confidence up to go to the Doctors to see if i could get this done on the NHS, but to be honest, they are reluctant to help when you have health problems, let alone something the probably thing is unneccesary! was the operation very expensive? does anyone know the guide price? Im so glad you all seem very happy with the results :)

    Hi Rachie

Hope you are good! I am in exactly the same position, i desparatly want this done but i am not telling anyone not even my best friend or my family, i am too embarassed! Must say tho seeing how many othere pppl are in the same situation makes me not as embarassed as i was!

I don’t have that much money so am trying to decide between a male cosmetic surgeon and a female gyno, its so tough! Also they both do it different ways (wedge vs trim).

What area are you in? Let me know how you get on and feel free to message me if u want to chat as I know how it feels to be doing this alone :-( I will be at the hospital alone when i get it done and then a couple of days in a hotel to recover!

    xx

hi, i am also so happy to find this post :D

From reading these posts id guess your all quite a bit older than me haha im 16 :)

ive considered having this op done for like a year?

    i mean i hate having a big labia, embarresed,sometimes painful,yup me :(

but this post really makes me want to tell someone soo next week im going to tell my mum and ask to go to the docter :) and hopefully get it on the nhs!!

can any of you tell me what you said to the etc etc :)

Ohh and scared, how have you gotten on/ getting on ? id love to know :)

    Menu

    Hi Rheeanna

Sorry just seen your post hun.

I know how hard it is, I think you should definatly confide in your mum as its a big decision you know and although its fine for lots of ppl there are risks!

Just make sure u get lots of advise and recommendations and if you do go ahead make sure it is with a surgeon who people have actually had it done with and recommend and in the UK!

Another good forum for advice is sofeminine.com

    Good luck hun xx

    Hi

So i posted on here about 2 months ago and in that time ive told my mum, gone to the gp, and had a consultation and the hopsital with a gyno! she said that shes going to write a letter to my gp and ask her to write a letter to “blah blah blah” its the group at the hospital who discuss whether its necesscary or not. but that might take ages…. but im on bupa? so is anybody else on bupa? and did that help speed up the process or anything, because my mum said it means you can have operations in about 2 weeks if they decide to!

    thanks :) xx
