Are you having Mr C? I had him at Highgate first on the 14th and then on the 21st
When you get to the hospital you tell the receptionist your name and she will tick you off and give you a next of kin form and you have to check that all your personal details are correct. You’ll then be shown to your room and told what all the buttons on your bed do etc…A nurse will then come in to do a pregnancy test, take your blood pressure, measure you for the sexy pressure socks
and she’ll ask you some medical questions and also when you last ate or drank. She will then take you into the corridor to check your height and weight so the anaesthetist knows how much anaesthetic to give you. You’ll then be asked to change into your gown, pressure socks and paper knickers. Shortly after the anaesthetist will come in and ask you some more questions just to double check everything and then a scrub nurse will come in with ANOTHER form for you to sign and they’ll walk you down to theatre. I have to say the most nerve racking part was actually waiting to go into the actual operating room, because I could see all these people walking around with all this equipment and I was like oh my god, this is REAL lol. I stressed so much before my op, I was crying every single day thinking, what if? But it was the easiest thing ever, and it feels great being put to sleep, it’s like free drugs so enjoy haha! xx
I was at 7am the first time around and I was walking down to theatre by 8 30 ish…you are probably the first on the list, I know I was.
Best of luck, try to stay calm and keep us all posted
xx
