I got told to take my plasters off today by the nurse at my post op. It’s been fine today, but since putting my bra back on my incisions are sticking to my mya bra and opening them slightly. Has anyone else had this? I’m 10 days post op, and this is the only real problem I’ve had. I’ve been told by the nurse at mya to go out and get a different bra. But all the shops are shut where I live now.

@Michelle, I’d put some plasters back on for now, until you can get to the shop to get another bra. That will at least stop them rubbing against the bra you have on now. I haven’t had my op yet so I can’t say I’ve experienced this (not yet anyway) xx

I had a check up 7 days after op she took dressing off cleaned incisions and said they always put more dressing on and take it off in another week. My incisions was covered for 15 days as the date went over by one day and i had to send her pictures. so by 15 days my bra was fine. Plus by 14 days you can shower so they felt better for me anyhow as dead skin came off. I’d cover them abit longer hun as I couldn’t afford more bras

@x-nats-x I was there on Tuesday, and she told me to take it off the Friday so I have done. But it was fine this morning. It kinda looks like the incision is opening slightly. I spoke to girl at MYA who told me to go out and get another but I’ve spent £120 on there bras. She did say to me they rub a lot. If it gets any worse I’m gonna give them another ring. I’m allergic to most plasters which doesn’t help either so the plasters I had one were making me itch to death! But I will do thank you!

@katiep369 I think Im gonna im gonna go to Tescos and see what they have. It’s just making me worry now. And aww fingers crossed for you, you won’t have this! Other than this that’s the only real issues I’ve had! Xx

@Michelle I’m not surprised it’s making you worry! best thing to do is to keep them covered if they’re opening, you don’t want them open to infection. Look for some plasters that have antiseptic in them if you can as well xx

I got the box of the big medical dressigs like what they use at mya from asda and put one on when i needed to when my dressings first came off. The mya nurse had to put iodine strips and fresh dressings on mine on the 7 fay mark as they werent healed properly. It sounds like yours arnt healed enough to be out of dressings to be honest x

@sophy123 my brother has gone to get me plasters I’ve undone my bra and seems to have settled. The bra is just really tight and rubbing against it I’ve let the air get to them. And my brothers girlfriend has said they look ten times better now. They’re getting so itchy now though. I had my post op check early but she put more dressings on as they were healing nicely, but said to keep them covered for another 3 days. But they’re just so itchy now x

Itchiness is a sign of healing so try and stuck with the itchyness. Maybe try sitting with an icepack it might take itchyness/soreness away aswell x
