My parents have been telling me I should ask my GP for a referral to a surgeon within the NHS. They want to me to get an independant opinion from someone else as apparantly they think “MYA are only interested in taking my money”. Also they think going with the NHS would be better than a private clinic.
I don’t agree with this, but I am going to make an appointment with my GP to keep them happy.
Has anyone else done this? Did you find a difference between NHS and private? Which is better?
I don’t really want to confuse myself with more options. I’ve also heard nothing bad about MYA or their surgeons.
My parents are confusing me so much, and trying to talk me out of it!
Help girls.
xx.
Hey hun. I think.to get ur bobbs done on the nhs u have to claim some sort of depression or have something really wrong with your boobs. Also u will have to wait ages if u are successful with them. Mya have 25yrs exp in boobs so im sure ul be fine
xxxxxxx
Hey Hun,
It sounds like I was in a similar situation to you. Cause I am only 19 my parents told me to go to my GP first. I have one boob a size bigger than the other so I thought she might be able to help…She examined me and told me that it was very noticale but there wasnt anything they could do, she did say that If I found it a real problem I should go and see a surgeon, but she didnt recommned one. From what she said I dont think they pay for things like this anymore.
I did look around alot before I decided which surgeon to go with as they all say slightly different things. I went to MYA, Transform and My Breast. I have been to about 11 consultations in total!! and have decided to go with My Breast as it sounds like the best option for me. Where abouts do you live? If you live near London I am having Mr Adam Topping at Spire Clare Park Hospital on 28th January! Cant wait now!! He is lovely and has been on embaressing bodies a few times! x x x
I have 1 boob bigger then the other. Im getting 100cc difference between mine.
I wouldn’t even consider going to the NHS.. They need to be spending their money on people that are actually ill. Not because I dont like my boobs.
You have to have a very good reason for them to do a BA. Alot of women have extreme problems with their boobs, plus depression etc & they dont get free BAs. Usually unless they are causing you medical/mental health issues they wont do it.
Hiya hun, i had my first ba on the nhs at 16 and i can honestly say i would not recomend it to anyone!!!!
I have since had to have 2 bas privatly.
First of all they do what they want not what you want, they gave me tear drop which looked hideous and put a really really small size in ( 300cc ) which is not small on your average height person but myself at 6ft!!!!! It looked rediculous!! I was very thankful for them for trying but wouldnt recomend it to anyone id say just go to mya and get what you ask for!!! Good luck hun xxx
Hi girls. It is very difficult to get your boobs done on the NHS and sometimes you have to wait months if not a couple of years. I recently heard that they are stopping boob jobs on the nhs altoghether. Im having my 2nd ba in a couple of weeks and Ive been to all of the cosmetic groups. Personally I think mya are the best – great customer care, very friendly (and I know cheap is not always the best option) but it’s a bonus that mya are the cheapest because I would go with mya any day, even if they wasn’t the cheapest! x
Thankyou all so much for your responses! This has helped so much.
I know I wouldn’t get it for free, as I don’t have depression or a psychological problem. I think what my parents want me to do is try to find an NHS surgeon, as apparantly the NHS have to have a lot more check ups & inspections to make sure they’re following the rules & regulations. Apparantly private surgeons don’t have to follow the rules, so they can do what they want.
This has all confused me, and I will still probably stick with MYA.
I trust MYA because of the fantastic surgeons and all the good things I’ve heard from so many people. My parents are against it because it’s a big company, but that doesn’t matter to me. I don’t think I trust the NHS!
xxx.
