help please all PO nose girls :)

Just wondering when were you able to breathe properly through your noses and when your nose stopped constantly running. Also I know someone has mentioned this before, but my nostrils are uneven, has anyone else had this and when did they start to even out? thank youuuu xxx

Im only 13 days post op,I had open septorhinoplasty,I could breath through my nose from day 2,my nostrils are very uneven one is a lot bigger and wider than the other.Im just guessing but from what other members have posted we need to be quite patient,as the swelling will fluctuate,Im trying not to look at mine,xxx

Oh I’m so so jealous! I want to be able to breathe through my nose! Fingers crossed my nostrils even out soon then. I need to learn to be patient…not very good at it though xx

Hey, i cant breath through my nose yet and im 19 days post op!!! when i look up my nose in the mirror [attractive thought lol] i can see its like my nose is incaved, its soo swollen so im expecting that might be the problem, think everyone starts breathing through their nose at different times!

Nostrils are def different sizes, they fluctuate, one day they’l be ok, next day ones bigger than the other! fingers crossed for the day we can breath and everything evens out girls! xx

some people cant breathe through their nose for 6months only slightly its just because the swelling goes up and down all the time, i also notice when i cant breathe through one nostril that side is more swollen and the nostril looks bigger! but try not to get too caught up with different size nostrils and stuff because youl have to live with it for months ha then itl all go xxx

Omg, if I can’t breathe for 6 months through my nose I will probably die!! Don’t know how much longer I can breathe like this. I can’t breathe, smell, taste…-ts just gross. I’m starting to get really irritated. I’m going to regularly use the de-congestant stuff.

Also I keep waking up flat on my back or on my side arghhh…do you think I will have moved my nose?xx

I have 6 pillows and a v pillow I have them positioned so that there is no way I can slip down or turn on my side,its like a military operation,a cocoon and I am literally sleeping sat up,I do seem to be sleeping a little longer each night so my body must be adjusting to that position,If I try to sleep lower,I can feel fluid running in to my throat and this makes me feel sick,so I would rather sleep sat up and have the stuff run out of my nose instead,I am also taking a litre of pineapple juice a day to help with the swelling.xxx

can totally relate with you georgia.. i just wanna wrip this cast off !!! its so irritating and i cant even taste chocolate and i had a pizza today could’nt taste that either but felt all the spices on my lips just wanna have a scream ….but then everyone wud be like “told u so” so just got grin and bear it!!!

i could taste abit when my cast came off i had a kfc it was lovelyyyy! then the next day i could taste again but i must say even tho i can breathe i cant smell certain things like i can smell oranges but not kiwi its really weird lol!

Im the same as tina i got about 10 and there all positioned so my body sinks in to them, im starting to sleep on my side more but i sleep with my neck bent up so i dont lean on my nose, im abit like steven hawkings when it comes to sleeping!

my bruising has almost gone really just a tiny by yellow thats taken a month altogether swelling went really quick i was lucky with that i drank loads of orange juice tho so dunno if thats got anything to do with it xxx

I literally am a disaster, I haven’t drank any pineapple juice or eaten any, have had a bit of orange juice. Luckily my bruising is ok, nearly gone just a bit yellow and only 7days post op.

Ok rinaule and tina I’m going to use your advice and add extra pillows to my bed tonight to makke it impossible for me to wake up on my back!

Yea I can’t taste anything chcolate bday cake, chips, roast dinner…nothing. At least I’m losing weight I suppose. It truly sucks. Xxx

dont worry if you dont! you dont seem liek you need it anyway! id say thats was the worse bit for me not being able to taste anything as i love food and i lost a stone! xxx

Hopefully I’ll be able to taste my xmas lunch!!!xx

Hi Hun x I am 4 months post op & my breathing is still up & down I had septo rhinoplasty tho & he said I was complicated (typical) lol so im guessing it will take alot longer for mine to settle than most, I think also I have had a few colds over the last few months so this wont have helped xxxx

The nurse today said my nose was very blocked, how rank. So I guess it won’t be for a while. To be honest I didn’t actually know that you wouldn’t be able to breathe through your nose for a long time. I thought by the time the cast was off that I’d be back to normal….obviously not!

Think this op will teach me the art of patience as I clearly am lacking any lol xxx
