This sounds so silly, basically I haven’t told anyone that I’m having this done other than my direct family and boyfriend. I see my partners parents everyday, get on well but his mum is a nightmare, she seems to get very jealous of me as I’m quite active and her other half enjoys sport and trains me. I’m so worried about telling his parents that I’m having this done, his mum is quite natural and very money orientated so I know she’ll just question why I’d want to spend money on this rather than towards a deposit for a house, most of all I’m worried she’ll be bitter about it and tell his younger sister 12 who is at an age where ‘boobs are disgusting’. I’m going on holiday in June with his family and they’re bound to notice a difference once I’ve had them done, I’m just so worried about telling them, do I tell them? If so how? If I don’t then shel gues and it might work out worse in my favour if she starts making comments 🙁 I don’t know what to do, it sounds so silly but she’s forever commenting on my figure and how I am so ‘skinny’ when I’m not I’m a size 6-8 5″4. Probably sounds so stupid and I know I shouldn’t care I just don’t want the digs and commentary. Anyone else had similar problems?! Xx

I was exactly same but with my own mum. What I did for an Easy way out I thought Is I told my sister about it then got her to tell my mum. Then also told my sister to tell her I don’t want any bad comments because at end of day it’s my choice and I have earnt every single penny of it. Afterwards my mum said she thought I was silly but agreed that it’s my money & I do what I want with it (Also lied about price to my mum too & said it’s 1500 less than the actual price) like your mother in law my mum is always asking me when I’m going to move out and things but she didn’t say anything. Think it’s because she knew how I felt once my sister told her so she didn’t say much. Hope this helps & hope you do tell them I know how hard it can be x

Oh my goodness I am in the same situation! My boyfriend is an only child, little blue eyed boy! His mum checks his bank account as well so when she sees he is doing my finance it will all kick off (yey). Let me know how you get on, as I am really worried about this too. I can’t hide it either because we are all off on holiday together after my op xxx

Ahhh I don’t know what to do 🙁 it’s not realy got anything to do with them so I might get my partner to mention it. They’ll think I’m crazy. I am paying for it all myself so it is nothing to do with them, I just can’t stand the digs I’ll get and I feel his mum will really stick her nose up. I’ll let you know how I get on, thanks girls xxx

I’m in a similar situation hun but my boyfriends family are down south and we live up north so I can get away with not seeing them for like a year. I don’t really plan on telling them and neither does my boyfriend.

At the end of the day it’s something that you want so they can just get over it, don’t let the negativity of other people stress you out its not worth it.

Ahh mine are the same, always making digs at how much money I spend and saying I live off my husband (I work part time as we have a 2 y/I daughter so do make my own money) I just told my mother in law I was having it and then left the room lol. She mentioned it to my husband and he just told her he doesn’t want to hear her moaning about it, we can spend our own money on what we want and it’s none of her business. So frustrating isn’t it, specially is it really has nothing to do with them! Xx

think everyone can aggree that in laws are an absolute ballache.
I am in the exact same boat- the annoying thing is to save anyone making jokes before me iv ALWAYS been the first to take the p*ss out of myself for being flat chested- its always worked for me people dont tease you about something you open and dont really too much care about (or at least they think) but obviously now im getting my BA this has slightly backfired because EVERYONE my family, boyfriend, his family, friends, work know that I have teeny boobies :’) so its pretty awkward that im gonna stroll in after my surgery with a nice C-Cup/D-Cup rack.

i mean seriously what the hell are we gonna say :’) ‘they totally grew overnight’, ‘i massage them’ hahha FAIL!

but i have come to final conclusion that they are IN-LAWS not your parents not your immediate family why should you feel you have to justify your action to them? Mums have little issues with their partner ‘girlfriends’, ‘wives’ because once upon a time they were the most important person in their lives and now its you! I think there are a small minority of amazing understanding awesome in laws however they are RARE!!

im babbling i know but i just think if you are getting boobies for yourself and have wanted them for a while why should you have to worry about telling certain people- anyone who knows you properly will most likely already know youve wanted tits forever!!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE if you do tell them i hope it goes super well! and if you dont…well cool thats your decision !!

    BOOB FTW xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Haha, wow! I had no idea that some in-laws can be like that and You let them!!! Firstly- going on Holiday together?!! Are you Insane?!!! LOL that’s the FASTEST way to fall out with them, and have a crapy holiday, Trust me! (Done that mistake). And wow, mums of adult boys check their bank accounts?! That happens? Hahaha, do they still umbilical cord attached too?! I’m sorry girls, but that’s funny and an eye opener. I’m myself a mom of 2 (young) boys so please someone slap me if I EVER become such a controlling b)&ch:))
My in laws know what I had done but they know better than to comment. It was told as a matter of fact not “please may I have it done”. You are all grown ups, don’t be afraid/ embarrassed and just be blunt about it:) rant over

Wow. This whole post has made me realise just how lucky I am to have awesome in laws and awesome parents. My mother in law knew I was having it done before my own mother, she even wanted to come and look after me afterwards. Suppose you don’t appreciate it until you read how much of a hard time other people get from it. Insane that they think they have any right whatsoever to make comment on how yiu spend your money and what you do to your body. Crazy. Xxx

Thanks for your comments, yeah some of us do have it unfortunate I guess but what can you do? They’re still your partners parents. I do love them to bits, they just have different views to certain things I guess and a different understanding. I won’t be telling them anyway as it’s none of there business.

Comments made me smile, glad to hear others have been in the same boat! Seen my surgeon today and arranged everything so on the countdown for 2 and a half weeks :)!!

Just look forward to your surgery hun, you’ve got the right attitude towards it! Seems a shame that some people have to be like that in life, but it’s their own short comings. Xxxx
