Overs have a much easier recovery but have a slightly higher chance of getting CC. X

@keli I had to have unders as I didn’t have much breast tissue, I used to work out loads at the gym though and when I said this to mr traynor he said ‘well do you want muscles or do you want boobs?’ So I won’t be able to be doing much at the gym now šŸ™ so you might have to take this into account huni x

Found this which also helped me – although I have plenty of tissue to go over, I went partially under as I want a more natural look with less change of rippling and CC xxx

    Over The Muscle Placement
The Subhlandular technique places the implant between the breast tissue and the chest muscle. Note from the image below that the implant is placed below the glands of the breast which does allow for breast feeding.

    Pros
    – Surgical procedure is much slightly easier and perceived as less invasive.
    – Lower recovery time and post-operative discomfort as the muscle stays intact.
    – Generally more cleavage can be created because the implants can be placed slightly closer together.
    – Larger implants can be utilized depending on the soft tissue characteristics of the patientā€™s breasts.
    – Implants do not become distorted when the pectoral muscles are flexed.

    Cons
    – Generally results in a less natural (more augmented) look where there is a pronounced roundness to the breast. Some women may prefer this look; itā€™s a matter of personal preference.
    – Implants are solely supported by the skin which could result in future stretch marks and blemishes.
    – Breasts are more susceptible to visible rippling as there is less tissue covering the implant along the upper border.
    – Creates more mammogram distortion which requires more views to be taken.
    – The rates of capsule contracture tend to be higher.
    – Increased risk of the implant ā€œbottoming outā€.
    – Future or concurrent breast lift procedures become more risky with regard to maintaining blood flow to the nipple.

    Partials (sub-fascia)

Sub-fascia placement is a technique in which breast implants are placed partially under the pectoralis major chest muscle.

    Pros
    – Results tend to have a more natural look as the implants are covered by both the breast tissue and the pectoral muscle.
    – Reduced risk of visible rippling.
    – The muscle supports the placement of the implant reducing the wear to the skin.
    – Reduced risk of capsular contracture development.
    – Less distortion of mammograms.
    – Decreased risk of the implant ā€œbottoming outā€.
    – Safer choice for those seeking concurrent breast lift or those who may need a lift in the future as it preserves better blood flow to the nipple in these settings.

    Cons
    – Surgical process is more slightly more difficult and perceived as more ā€œinvasive.ā€
    – Longer recovery time mainly due to more post-op pain/discomfort.
    – Breasts may appear to sit a bit high until the muscle fully relaxes (about 4-6 weeks after surgery).
    – Implants can become distorted when the chest muscle is flexed.
    – Depending on the patientā€™s body type larger implants cannot be utilized.

Over the muscle placement are generally better for those with a good amount of their own breast tissue, and in those patients with very large or strong chest muscles. When there is a significant amount of breast tissue, there will be adequate soft tissue coverage making the pectoralis muscle superfluous in this regard.

Also, those with robust chest muscles are more likely to have significant distortion on animation and should consider overs.

Partially under the muscle implants give a natural, long lasting result for most patients and yields the lowest complication rate. Further, it facilitates future breast lifting procedures by preserving the best blood flow to the nipple.

Unders Pros: Unders are better for a more natural result as the muscle and breast tissue will cover the implant and if you have little breast tissue they will not have the obvious rounded look, There is less chance of sagging over time as the implant is held with muscle and breast tissue, there is less chance of capsular contraction but can still happen,

Unders Cons: If you work out doing weights or swimming your muscle contracting can make the implant look a bit unnatural, unders can be quite painful for quite a few weeks and don’t get final look for a few months to a year.
You apparently lose 20% of implant size going under, so a bigger implant might be better. They sit quite high on the chest for a while, until the muscle relaxes,

Overs Pros: Overs are good if you want a rounder appearance with little breast tissue, or if you have quite a bit of breast tissue you will get a natural look, with easier recovery time, More likely to get a fuller result/cleavage, can help to fill out breast tissue after having children,

Overs Cons: Overs are more likely to ripple, with the weight and your natural breast tissue not having enough, they are more likely to sag over time as there is only the breast tissue supporting the implant on the outside, there may be more likelyhood of capsular contraction,

Thats all i can think of for now xxx

Thank you so much everyone! I think im leaning towards partials at the mo I want to have as much cleavage as possible but I don’t want to end up with rippling but if I do go for partials i will have to see if she will let me go a bit bigger as I will lose some of the 350cc….I wish we could see exactly what they would look like before we had it done lol be so much easier!! xx

Im already worried that 350cc might not be enough so might have to see if I can add the extra 50cc and have partials haha. Just so confusing ive seen so many girls on here all the same sizes as me but they are having atleast 400cc I just don’t want to wake up and not be big enough xx
