The idea was to enhance the security of this community as members were complaining of abusive private messages. If you want to add someone please message each other on the public forum first whilst we look into this.

how can you even message somebody on the public forum? Unless they have messaged first and then you reply. Sorry mod but this seems like a stupid idea

We are working on this but please be assured we will sort it. We are trying to ensure we protect members on the forum.

it seems crazy as you have to discuss publicy why you want to be someones friend when that is only between the two of you and it could become embarrasing for example…’claire may i add you we have similar size implants’ ‘claire-no’……….surely thats best private..if you get abusive private messages delete them better than being rejected on a public post..only my opinion x

We are trying to look into a solution for this.

For the time being would you prefer to be able to send private messages to anyone like before or friends only.

Please let us know. Just to remind you we only actioned this in the first place as we were receiving a lot of complaints from users about abusive private messages.

maybe it would be better to change it so when someone does send a friend request they HAVE to send a message as well if they dont fill out the message then the friend request dont get sent x

I also think the private messaging has been stopped as MYA don’t want us complaining about them to each other (if you know what I mean)! Im unhappy with my boobs and I’ve told MYA that I’ve had private messages from members asking me to explain why, which I have. They don’t want us doing this! Most negative comments get deleted from the public forum but they can’t control what we PM each other. Just a thought.

Oh and I’ve been offered an appointment to see my surgeon but girls on here have told me that surgeon won’t do anything until you’re at least 6 mths post op! So rather than waste even more money and even more time Im going to wait until Im 6 months post op then go back. No doubt my boobs will look even worse and even saggier by then anyways so should have a better case xx

And there should be an option to block members too. so those who are recieving abusive messages can just block the poeple doing so.

Hi Mya Mod, your number 1 priority was obviously to stop people receiving abusive messages from others, which you have done effectively, whilst you sort out an interim solution for everybody else’s feedback so I think the right action has been taken here.

Surely if someone has been receiving abusive messages from another forum member you can then block thst member? as they are not abiding to the T&C’s. x

Just to keep you updated we are working on a solution like Rinaule has suggested and are hoping to get it under way next week.

Missym83- Thank you for your support our main priority IS to ensure all members feel safe in this community and we had received complaints of harassment from distressed forum users via private messaging that we just could not ignore.

Tracy2010- We are so sorry to see you are unhappy with your procedure and we really recommend you follow the advice of your surgeon rather than leaving it be, as messaging other members will not ensure a positive outcome for you, whereas communicating and following the advice of your clinic and your surgeon is more likely to.

Just to confirm, we will only remove posts that are either spam, offensive, defamatory or misleading to other forum members.

All feedback is so important to us as we can action it and ensure we continually improve our service.

Thanks again guys for your feedback we really appreciate it and we are sure we will find a solution everyone is happy with very soon.

U shouldn’t be able to send a friend request without s lil message! Then keep private messaging between friends! Yes it does solve the abusive horrible messages some girls send but it also prevents us getting spoken to before added xx

I agree with missym83 and love rinaule’s idea,I an sure MYA will be doing all they can to improve the system,they seem to be taking all feedback on board and acting on it.xx

I think private messages should be bought back. On the subject of abusive messages, why not have a block button like on Facebook so that person can’t contact you? X
