high/ low profile?? confused what these mean

hi girls iv had my surgery consultation and we’b decided on 340 overs but i keep seeing these questions being asked about high and low profile and this was never mentioned by my surgeon so im a little confused at wha they mean x

i asked for full faker look at top and he suggested high profile i think its for more roundness at top rather than implant looking more natural xxxxx

I asked for a more natural look, im having a moderate profile the base of the implant is also wider with slighty less projection, its less than 1 cm projection though so nothing to worry about x

I asked for a natural full look and I have 340cc extra high profiles partially under….usually the smaller framed you are the higher profile you need whereas if you are a bit more curvy i think you could have low or high profile.(I mean that in a completely nice way not offensive way:) )

so I was told could be wrong…apparently the higher the profile the narrower the implant and the more projecting it is. the lower the implant the wider it is.

I think the profiles all depends on your body and your boobs and only the surgeon can really make this choice for you.

so best you ask him to explain it all and what is best for you.

I think it depends on what breast pocket you have to start with, for example I am a size 8 with a 30 inch back but I have large breast pockets so for a high profile implant to fill my pocket I would need to go for a a lot bigger cc as they are narrower. i am having a 380cc low profile (if I wanted high profile i would need to go for nearer 500cc to fill) hope this makes a bit of sense xx

high profile implant pushes out from the chest wall more than any other profile, the implant will push out the central and lower parts of the breast the most. Thus, high profile implants create a pointy, much more rounded breast. Conversely, lower/moderate profile breast implants push the areolas out from the chest wall the least, which creates a softer, flatter, more ‘natural looking’ breast.

Let’s look at some examples of implants. A 300cc Low Profile implant is wider and flatter than a 300cc High Profile implant which is narrower and projects more. A Moderate Profile 300cc implant has a width and projection that is in between the other two profiles.

So, what does this mean and how do you know which type of breast implant is best. In general, a person with a narrow torso may be better suited with a High Profile Implant. This is because the other profiles may be too wide for a narrow torso, resulting in implants that are too close in the center (“uni-boob”) or hanging off the side (“side-boob”). However, if a woman has a wide torso, than a wider implant is needed so that the implants help to fill out the chest. In this situation a Low or Moderate profile implant may be better. A High Profile implant will be likely leave too much space in between the breasts.

Your surgeon will play the key role in determining which breast implant profile is best for you. This is done by using specific measurements such as the width of your breast (base diameter), the size of your torso (band width), and the nipple-to-nipple distance. Your surgeon must also factor in your specific desires about implant volume and the desires “look” of your augmentation.

The bottom line is that you should not stress about which implant profile is best. This is a job left to your surgeon. I tell my patients that they should only focus on the volume they desire and then I will recommend a profile type based on multiple factors that were discussed above.

kat1986, your exactly the same regards needing more width, Im having a 330cc so would have to have a much bigger implant to get the width I think it means we wont have a huge gap inbetween our boobies, and a killer cleavage

hope so chick!!! my breast measurement accross (my pocket) was 17cm on my larger breast so that led my surgeon to recommending low profiles. xx

you can see from my before pics front on my breasts are ok quite round ish, side on its from the nipple up where I need filling out so I believe this is where the moderate profile will fill me out. A high profile would push out the lower part of my breast the most so wouldnt suit me. Its very confusing something ive been trying to get my head round and Im trusting my surgeon

yeah similar thing for me really. I couldnt get my head round it either at first but now i think i do! i need more fullness on top as all my breast tissue is currently down at the bottom after breastfeeding.

yes sure hun, Im about 15cm and my implants are 12.25cm width and 4.1cm projection, the high profile equivalent has 4.8cm projection so less than a cm difference, I only breast fed for 1 day lol, started off a C in my teens, dropped to a B working out and losing fat, now Im a A

thanks ive sent you a request. i was a dd in teens stayed ok after first baby, went up to f with second, now im a wonky full c and an empty dd after i breastfed on one side more. bring on the new even boobies xx
