Booked in at Highgate in July and was wondering from anyone who has been there whether there is somewhere to wait if you get there early? I want to book my transport but know my op could be at like 7am but if it’s a long time after that then I won’t have anywhere to go. Will they let me sit in a waiting room for a few hours so you think? Also is check out time always 9am or can they keep you longer?

There is a little reception as you walk in. I’m sure they won’t mind you waiting their. Xx

I waited in reception for about an hour and chatted to the lovely receptionist, the news is on too and their are papers. Their is a high street about 5 mins walk too with coffee shops etc. In the morning after my operation they let me wait for my partner to arrive which was about 11, I let them know when I arrived that my partner was coming from Nottingham and couldn’t leave their until 8.30 as we were waiting for the baby sitter to arrive and they were fine. Breakfast is at 7.30 on the dot so I refrained from a full fry up and opted for cereals. Don’t worry their fab at highgate, I thoroughly enjoyed my stayed and was well cared for x

They also have a garden, whilst I was waiting for my op, the nurse let me sit in the garden which was great and helped with the nerves.

hi hun i had mine there, and i can’t fault them at all, best service ever, i was seen on time staff were amazing, i had a day case and they said i could go at 3 but as my friend was picking me up and due to traffic and congestion in london she didn’t come till about 7 they were fine with me staying as long as i liked xx

I loved it too, I was a bit late coming in as we got stuck in traffic but it was no problem for them, I was 2nd in for my op. My boyfriend kept himself busy ordering food while I was being operated on and he also went off to the shop to get me some chocolate while I recovered (although the nurse told me off for that). They really look after you so dont have any worries!

I wish I could go private all the time!

One tip I would give is dont go for a wee as you will need to do a pregnancy test and obviously you arent allowed to eat or drink after so many hours, I made a big mistake of going for a wee while I was waiting in Reception and then having to try and go again for the test without being able to drink water! x

I’m at highgate next Tuesday great tip about the wee!! That would be me too struggling if I hadn’t read that as I need to pee more when I’m nervous lol
