hole in my insicions help

im 6 weeks po and i have just found a hole at the very end of my insicion what should i do is this normal?x

Ring the nurse hun, it needs re-dressing and looked at xx

Is it weeping honey? Did you have drains?

Call the nurse if you’re worried honey but if you had drains it might be where they don’t stitch that but but would’ve thought it’d close by now x

i think its where the scab has come off but i have a hole now !!

I’d put a plaster over so nothing can get in it to infect it and call the nurse to get it looked at asap. Hope it’s ok x

thanks girls just rang the nurse got to put a dry dressing over it and back to the good old sports bras lol was only in normal bras for a day as well xx

Oh no not the dreaded sports bra I’ve only been in mine a week and already can’t wait to get it off!!

Have you got to go and see the nurse to get it checked or does she think it’ll just heal up on its own if you give it a little while longer? X

yeah i know am gutted lol. no as long as it starts healing in 5 days and dosent get infected it should be fine x

That’s exactly what happened to me! I wore an underwire bra for one day at 6 wks and my left incision opened right at the corner near the armpit side, they just put another steri strip on it and told me to wait another 6 weeks before going back to gym, I waited almost 4 months before wearing underwire bras again! It’s left a bit of a bump where it reopened, my mums a nurse and she said that it’s quite common for the end stitches to not fully close a wound. Am sure it’ll rectify itself soon x

princess76 were u told not to wear underwired bras until it healed up again? they never said anything to me about exercising. x

Yeah they told me no underwire or exercise for 3 months in total, so another 6 wks after the incision opened, which was at 6 wks x

Yeah I know but in the long run it’ll be worth it, my scars were so sore afterwards that it was a relief not to wear the underwire anyway, just keep an eye on it and you’ll be fine, I used to pad out the bras I wore with bandages to stop them rubbing, they still get a bit site with underwire even now and I’m nearly 8 months po!
