I’ve been seriously thinking about having a breast enlargement for my 18th birthday but many people, including my family and boyfriend, feel that this is too young and that I should wait till I am at lease 20, what do you think?
Im booked for my breast surgery on the 9th may and im only 18 my birthday was in november.. i had concerns myself about being young but its something ive wanted for so long and now im finally old enough to do it i wasnt going to let anything hold me back. listen to your heart and your head babe
I’ve wanted a ba since I was a teenager and I’ve finally had my ba at 26. I wanted my kids young so I did that first but if I hadn’t wanted or had the opportunity to have my kids young I would definitely of got my boobs done. I do regret not having amazing boobs during my youth but I’m hardly old at 26 so it’s not too bad. Plus I’m having no more kids so I don’t have to worry about pregnancy affecting the result. My family have always been behind me as i was very flat (34a/aa) and they agreed it wasnt great having no chest. I’ve had to have unders as no breast tissue xx
im 22 and finally having a BA after waiting 4 years to have one… i personally think if u want one now then u will always want one .. they are hoping that by the time ur 20 u will have changed ur mind – but believe me u wont !! all u will do is think about it every day till ur 20 … so if i was u i would do it now!! my body hasnt changed at all since i was 18 .. maybe got a bit smaller actually!! xxx
My chest grow when I was 14 and then never changed except when my milk came in. For one day usually I’d actually have a b cup woo hoo lol!
Thanks for answering girls, do you mind if I send you all friend requests?
I really want to have a BA for my 18th before I go to university, my parents say ‘you’re 18 so you can do what you want’ but they say I could still be developing so might have some more growing to do. The thing is im slim, 5’4 8stone 3lbs with 34A’s so i’m never going to have particularly large breasts haha.
course u can hun !! im 5ft 4 9 stone 34 b ! having 410 unders with maro russo !! .. is ur mum going to give u the money hun?XX
I think everyone is different….I have wanted one from such a young age and only just did it 6 weeks ago…im in my mid twenties….I am happy I waited because I did it when I was 100% sure that this is what I really wanted because sometimes when were 18 our choices are alot more impulsive(to be honest i wish i was still as impulsive as back then:) )
As long as you are sure with no regrets….as long as surgeon thinks your breasts are not still developing usually they do until 21…x
I didnt mean the above in a way like your too young i just meant it like be sure thats all:)
No megagray111 haha I wish my mum and dad were paying! If I go through with it I will be using my savings. Can someone explain to me how the numbers work like 410cc for example I don’t really get it haha? And Alli, if the surgeons feel that I am still developing will they not let me have the BA? xxx
hi babe, i personally wanted mine doing from the age of like 16 maybe earlia lol, i did have a consutation when i was 18 and the surgeon told me i should maybe wait if i can until i have kids and im sooo glad i did i got pregnant very soon after that consultation and had a my baby girl at 19 then got pregnant pretty much straight after with my now 4 month old boy and i just had my ba with lift!! from weight gain/loss/breast feeding it takes aloy out of your body so upto you really babe xx
apparently 120-150cc can be a cup size.. so depending on ur current size and what u want to achieve will be what ur offered. im a 34 b wanted to achieve a D/DD i got offered 410cc to achieve this .. arrr i wih someone was paying for me too lol!! my whole family are against it .. posting articles from newspapers of horror storied through my door etc. xx
Hey busylizzie19, im 18 (not far off 19 now) and i had my BA 3 weeks ago today.when i got to 18 i saved every penny i earned and edventually with a little bit of help got them done
I didnt even ask for anyones opinion on it, because i knew this is what i wanted and i was gunna do it for myself so other peoples view didnt even matter. I’d say if you know 100% this is right for you then go for it! if theres doubt in your mind then maybe wait a while. but dont not do it just because of other peoples views, theres always going to be someone who disagree’s with it whether you’re 18 or 40. xxx
It’s unfortunate that your family aren’t supporting you megagray111, my mum says she doesn’t really agree with it but if i choose to go through with it she says she’ll support me all the way through.
And thank you Blondie90, having children in the future after having a BA does concern me , are implants drastically effected by having a baby? xxx am i ok to add you as a friend also? x
Thank you for your advise athenarose
I really want them for my 18, what size were you before and what are you now? (if you don’t mind me asking
) xxx
OF course babe add away. and im not sure about if kids affect implant drastically as i waited until now 21 and i have a beautiful boy and girl but i new i wanted kids young and i dont want nomore, so if you can hang on in there?? maybe more worth it as i do no pregnancy does take alot out of your boobs and i could imagine theyd maybe sagg and you d either need a lift afterwards or the whole thing re done probs depends on what size your thinking of going to aswell do u no yet? xx
thanks you blondie
Well I am petite and quite small framed so anything huge would look silly on me, currently i am a 34 A and ideally would like to be a full B or perhaps C cup, definatly think i will need unders as i have very little breast tissue xx
its ok:-) and well for starters i recommend you got for the c cup lol ull regret it after if not trust me ask any1 and yeah as megagray111 said 120-150 is roughly a cup size i was an empty c cup matbe even a b i think, i had 300cc i wanted to look a d cup dd max and i think i look a big c cup so wished i had gone abit bigger but i am only 1 week po so ill give them time to fluff as i was told needed unders to, and apparently you loose upto 30percent of the size when they are under the muscle?? but im not sure how true this is but it would make sense i guess xx
Yes i’ve heard that about unders too
I think a full C cup might be more appropriate, my 18th is not till may though so can’t even have a consultation for months haha! is it true that unders appear more natural? xx
yeah apparently mine look and feel so natural and real i expected them to feel fake at least, they even move! lol. and trust me may will soon be here i waited for my ba for 4 years and now its happened so fast all of a sudden its over with just waitin on them to fluff now xx
haha hope these next few months go quick! Although i should be concentrating on passing my A levels more than a boob job haha! How long do they take to fluff? xx
Yeah thats fine, im very petite too, size 6 and just under 8 stone. i was a 32a, i got 380 unders and look about a d cup now 3 weeks on from my BA. Feel free to add me and ask me more questions if you like
xx
wow they sound great Athenarose haha! i’ve just sent you a friend request hope that’s ok
xx
i havent got a clue about the fluffing lol sorry im 1 week tomoz and hoping it will happen 1 day lol. i never researched unders as fort was gona be having overs so i didnt read anything about fluffing as overs dont fluff apparenty xx
i wanna know how long they take to fluff as well, want mine to fluff! 😆 and yeah thats fine xx
haha bet it’s such an exciting time for you both! what do your partners/boyfriends think? mines really against the whole thing! xx
Your very welcome to add me. I’m 56kgs and 167cms. Was a 34 a/aa, no breast tissue. I had 380cc unders on Friday so I’m 4 days po. I got measured yesterday and I’m a 34d
shouldn’t get measured until 6 weeks po as they change so much but I needed my post op bra and went m&s and couldn’t resist a measure lol! They should get bigger too as the muscle relaxes and they ‘fluff’ and they change shape. I’d advise get them done if your completely sure but save up again for after you’ve had kids. That way as soon as your happy with your family size you can get another ba and uplift if you need one xx
thank you
just sent you an add sizzynat. Did you have your done at doncaster royal infirmary? xx
and my partner happy with them, he knew how unhappy i was with them so he was suportive just told me to shut up when i went on about it all the time!how rude lol. so am glad i can come on heree to all you girls goin thru the same thing
facebook for boobies/surgery love it xx
my boyfriend tells me to shut up too when i go on about it too! haha he says he thinks they wont suit me haha xx
aww, hes probs jeolous dont want other lads seein em lol but im sure he wont moan afterwards
xx
haha maybe! i’m sure he’d appreciate them after a while haha
My boyfriend wasnt a massive fan of me getting them, but he said to do whatever makes me happy, which i did and he loves them now
xx
I haven’t had time to read the other posts, but presonally I’ve always wanted one and said to myself if they hadn’t grown by 21 then I would. I’m 24 and having my BA in May, really glad I waited, reflecting back I wasn’t ready at 18, but you’ll know
good luck with your decision x
My friend was 18 she sed its best thing shes ever done. I’m 21 now and having mine next Friday I’ve had 2 kids, and don’t plan on anymore anytime soon. I’m having 380cc from a B cup I’m 5;6 and 8st6. A lady I know had a boobjob and went on to have a baby her boobs are fine still. If you know your sure go for it hun xx
I think as long as you are aware of all the after complications that may occur, really read through what the negative and positive sides of having breast implants are, then you will be ready to really choose what you want. Many people just jump into this decision without doing a proper research. I’ve thought about this for many years. I’m now 27 and still flat chested which I really hate. I know I’m putting my body at risk, I know that I can even put my future baby being able to be breast fed at risk, but I’m willing to take the risk. I’m also able to finance the repair if anything goes wrong in the future.
A BA is a huge decision, at least for me:)
Im 18 and have a consultation friday for surgery, i think its a great time to do it before you get older & have to start paying bills LOL. Im looking forward to it & ive always wanted it done, so im not going to not have it done because of what people say, if it makes you happy & boosts your confidence (which it will) then i dont think anything should hold you back!
Lets’s say if you are not aware of this, you are not ready for implants no matter what age:) Whatever you do good luck!!
“Long-Term Complications Likely With Silicone Breast Implants

June 22, 2011 — Silicone gel–filled breast implants are safe and effective when used according to their labeling, but the longer a woman has the implants, the more likely she is to experience complications, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a new report released today.
“Breast implants are not lifetime devices,” Jeffrey Shuren, MD, JD, director of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, said during a telephone news conference. “One in 5 patients who received implants for breast augmentation will need them removed within 10 years of implantation. For patients who received implants for breast reconstruction, as many as half will require removal 10 years after implantation.”
Women with silicone breast implants will need to monitor their breasts for the rest of their lives. To screen for silent ruptures, women should undergo magnetic resonance imaging 3 years after implantation, and then every 2 years thereafter, Dr. Shuren said. Women with saline implants do not need regular imaging.
When the FDA allowed silicone breast implants back on the market in November 2006, it required manufacturers to conduct follow-up studies to learn more about the long-term performance and safety of the devices. The FDA’s report is based on preliminary safety data from these studies, as well as other safety information from recent scientific publications and adverse events reported to the agency.
The most frequently observed complications and adverse outcomes are tightening of the area around the implant (capsular contracture), additional surgeries, and implant removal. Other complications include a tear or hole in the outer shell (implant rupture), wrinkling, uneven appearance (asymmetry), scarring, pain, and infection.
Studies to date do not indicate that silicone breast implants cause breast cancer, reproductive problems, or connective tissue disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, the FDA said. However, no study has been large enough or lasted long enough to completely rule out these and other rare complications.
“Most women report high levels of satisfaction” with their implants, Dr. Shuren said.
The FDA is working with the 2 manufacturers who make silicone breast implants, Allergan and Mentor, to address the challenges in collecting follow-up data on the women who have received these implants.
Approximately 5 to 10 million women worldwide have breast implants. In the United States, 296,203 breast augmentation procedures and 93,083 breast reconstruction procedures were performed last year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. About half the procedures used saline implants, and half used silicone implants.
Patients with either saline or silicone implants may have a very small risk for a rare cancer called anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL) adjacent to the implant. However, the risk is “profoundly small,” said Dr. Shuren. “Since 1997, there are only 34 cases in the published literature, and at most 60 cases out of the 5 to 10 million women with implants worldwide,” he said. “We don’t yet know if there is a causal link.”
When the FDA first released information about the risk in January, William Maisel, MD, MPH, chief scientist and deputy director for science in the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiologic Health, said the evidence suggests that the kind of ALCL found in conjunction with breast implants is less aggressive and is sometimes treatable by simply removing the implant, the capsule, and the collected fluid.
“The FDA will continue to monitor and collect safety and performance information on silicone gel–filled breast implants, but it is important that women with breast implants see their healthcare providers if they experience any symptoms,” Dr. Shuren said. “Women who have enrolled in studies should continue to participate so that we may better understand the long-term performance of these implants and identify any potential problems.”
The FDA is holding an expert advisory panel in the next few months to discuss how postapproval studies on breast implants can be more effective.
The FDA will issue an update at a future date on saline implants, Dr. Maisel said.
All serious adverse effects should be reported to the breast implant manufacturer and Medwatch, the FDA’s safety information and adverse event reporting program, by telephone at 1-800-FDA-1088, by fax at 1-800-FDA-0178, online at https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/medwatch-online.htm, or by mail to MedWatch, FDA, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20852-9787.”
Hi hun, I’m 19 and had my op 3 weeks ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I was going to have it done at 18 but I didn’t have the time because I had exams etc..
I say if you want it then go for it. The decision should be yours and yours alone, don’t let anyone hold you back! xx
