    Hi ladies

I am only at the considering stage of all this, but i am worried about ‘down time’. I have a horse that I ride 6 times a week and he cant really go with out exercise! Has anyone advice on how long you should wait to ride. I also run a bit and go to the gym a lot. How long before running? Dont want to get fat!! lol

hiya, im not sure but on my second consultation with the surgeon, i think he sed dat after 1 week you can resume your normal activities but i think for exercise and that you might have to wait 6 weeks. you dont wana hinder your healing process!!

    Hiya,

Having had horses in the past I know how strenuous it is taking care of one – the mucking out, grooming etc as well as the riding!

I think you should definitely find someone to look after your horse for you for at least a week. You may feel well enough to lunge him/her after 4 or 5 days but then again that depends how well he/she lunges – sometimes it takes a bit of strength to lunge them doesn’t it! Riding etc is extremely physical and if I was in your position I’d probably have 2 weeks’ down-time if not more.

That’s probably not what you want to hear but if you were to put an ad in your local horsey paper/shop you could possibly find someone who would “help out” (muck out) in exchange for a ride a few times during the week? If you have a field/arena you could watch and guide them, bit like a lesson?

Thanks folks. Its a difficult decision isnt it! Yeah the horse thing is a massive problem! Wouldnt be so bad if it was summer and he was living out! I have already had Macrolane, which only lasts a year, so thinking of making it more permanent this time! No point keep spending

Mya are so good. they are really professional but their when you need them!!! they tell you the truth aswel, they dont just tell you what you want to hear!!!!
what was the macrolene like? i was thinking about having that done but like you sed, its a lot 2 keep paying for. What size are u hoping to go 4??? im a 32b at the mo, 5’3 n about 7 and a half stone. im having 380cc or 410cc to achieve hopefully a DD to E!!!!

    Hia,

im 6 weeks post op now and have previusly been horse riding. I wont consider riding before 6 weeks (sorry to put a downer on it, but feel i should be honest with you) You should be ok to do light mucking oyut after around 4 weeks!

The healing process is there for a reason…. your body will tell you if you should or shouldnt be doing things.

Would defo recommend MYA there are really suportive and you can call them any time pre/post op with any questions.

Hi sweetcarol, my kids have got ponies, i had my boob job done in august, i bought the ponies in one night due to bad weather and found mucking out hell! i was 2 weeks post op, lucky for me my bf helped (not the best of mucking out, but i grinned and beared it), i also had to have him on hand to carry water etc to the field. Are you on a livery yard where you could part share your horse for a whilst? or why not try advertising for a groom/rider for a few weeks, what about turning your horse away and giving him a break for a few weeks?
You wiill need to listen to your body, because believe me it will tell you when your overdoing things
    Good luck x

    Hey,

I was told not to ride until my 6 week check. i had my boobs done when the weather wasnt so bad so i just left them out but i did have to bring them in a couple of nights and had to try and explain to my mate how to muck out and put the beds down.

I couldn’t lunge either although i did lunge my little pony after about 3 weeks coz hes abit of a porker and he was tryin to run of when the kids were riding him.

so i would say if your horse really cant go with out excerise then you would need to find someone to help out.

i was countin the days until i could ride but its worth it now big boobies and riding again ! xxx

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am on a great yard, but I dont want anyone to know if I decide to do it, so it makes it awkward trying to explain why you arent doing things. It was bad enough with the macrolane. couldnt ride for 2 weeks. only had one day off mucking out though (which I shouldnt have done), its so expensive for full livery as well!
I was happy with the Macrolane, but as the months go on, you can tell they have decreased in size. I was only a 36 A/B and went to a small C, but they looked good. Now I would say I have gone to a nice B, but I liked them just that bit bigger. I dont want to go massive, just a nice big C. I do a lot of sports and running and think they would just get in the way, and like I said, I dont want it to be ridiculously noticable either.
What about the scars, how are they now for you all?

    Hia Sweetcarol,
my scars are really good, i had my op 6wks ago in manchester and im really happy with the results. I have been measured now a few times and i have been told that im defo a 32F! lol…. hmmm i asked for a D/DD, but they do only look around a D/DD, and believe it or not i went to work and people didnt notice! (baggy tops)

Like you i do enjoy to go for a run and burn off stress/energy. I havent yet been out for a run with the boobies but cant see them getting in the way too much. Im going to invest in a shock absorber sports bra at the highest rating and i’d suggest you get one for riding/running if you go ahead. I was told by my pc that even though your boobs arnt real you should look after them as though they are!

I recommend that you get someone to look after your horse for you for the first couple of weeks!
If you are near wigan i would even do it for you!

    Hi Jojo

thanks for the offer, but i am near Notts, so thats a shame. I need to find a secret helper! lol. Oh I have some deciding to do!

    Hi Carol,

Perhaps you could just tell your guys on your yard that you are having some other kind of surgery and that is why you need their help to muckout/exercise. I know it’s a bit dishonest, but it may be worth doing if you wish to keep it quiet.

A few of my family were down a couple of days after the op, so actually the horses were quite useful on this occasion because I had ‘fallen off and bruised my ribs’ and that’s why no-one could give me a hello and goodbye hug!

    Hope it works out xx
