    Just packing my bag for my BA tomorrow, what do I need again? x

    hey, this is my list:

    front fastening PJ’s

    V Pillow

    Slippers

    Dressing Gown

    Clothes to go home in – Joggers and zip up jumper

    Laptop and or book to read

    Water and a bottle of squash

    Straws

    Mobile phone charger

    Cereal bars – in case they don’t feed you

    Hot water bottle – for back pain

    Neck pillow

    Laxatives

    Strepsils – for the pain you may get from having the tube down your throat

    Re-Hydration sachets

    Macom or sports bra

    think that’s about it for me, I have been collating info for weeks xx

    don’t forget ice packs for when you are at home

    Soz can i ask what are rehydration sachets? also are u allowed to take laxatives with the meds they give you? i wanted to buy em but my mum said i should wait an ask the surgeon..? got my op on tuesday an got a few last min bits still to get x

    you get really dehydrated from a general anaesthetic, had a few before for medical reasons, it is literally just minerals that you mix with water and drink to put back in to your system to rehydrate yourself. I am taking them with me but need to check when i get there that I am ok to take them.

    my nurse told me this week that laxatives are ok and I know a few people on here have said that they took them as soon as straight after surgery. from experience I will be doing that, last time i had an op, a few years back, every time i moved I farted – I felt like an old lady, getting out of my seat was awful – I also didn’t go to the loo for 5 days, trust me it is not nice so I won’t be going through that again x
