Hi hush, i flannel washed from day one, my hubby did under my arms and my back until i was able to move a bit more. I also used deodrant from day one but the flannel washing was the best thing, especially when my back was itchy after wearing a bra all day

Thanks very much hun ;-) I feel so putrid i’ll get some help xx

    Menu

Hey hush, I had shallow bubble baths and had assistance from my bf and sister to wash my hair. I also had aloe vera wet wipes to clean and cleanse the top part of my breasts, before applying cocoa butter. After one week when I had staples taken out I showered with dressings on and had hibiscrub (antibacterial soap for post-op patients) to wash with. I sterilsed my sponges every day too. And I completely cleaned my shower head before my op to get rid of any lerking bacteria. I’m 6 weeks post op now, I’ve healed really well and had no infections.xxx

    Hi Michelle79

You certainly weren’t gonna allow infection in. I think I’ll be taking your advice on keeping clean. Do you have any photos hun. I’m still trying to decide on sizes and stuff. I have Mr Traynor on 19th April.

    Cheers! xx

    Glad this was posted!!

I am flannel washing with anti bacterial soap and a brand new sponge. even my soap is new! i bought new pjs so that i can wash a pair every second day cos more than 24 hours in them and they are lifting! the day after my op when they took my drains out i lifted my arm and was like “jesus! i can smell my stinky pits from here!” the nurses just laughed and said i smelt lovely! bless them!

baby wipes are my best friend now. wipe my bits after ever wee/poop just to stay extra clean! sorry for mental images! lol xx

Hush, funny you say that about not showering for a week. I use to work at a pharmacy and the pharmacist said that it’s a fact that it is ideal to shower no more than once a week, as the natural oils on your skin help defend bad stuff like bacteria from getting sick. However, as today’s life, hyigene is important so it’s not a good idea. But showering no more than once a day is better in today’s lifestyle,, anymore and you stop the natural defence you have on your skin to stop you from getting sick.

Use baby wipes!.. If you don’t have a bath tub.. Get a bucket and fill it up with warm water, gently pet yourself with some water and rub some liquid soap all over your body and use a cup to pour the water over you gently to wash it off.. That should work better than baby wipes and you will fresh again ;) as for you hair, go to the hairdressers and get a wash and blow-dry.. Pamper yourself xx
