    Hey Kaylz1,

Everyone heals differently, I don’t think i would have been able to hold a baby for very long at 10 days, i had no strength or grip in my arms. But i do have an extremely low pain threshold. I’d be prepared that you might not be able to hold your baby for long, at least then you aren’t getting your hopes up. Saying that, most girls generally are fine and have no pain (maybe save some of your pain killers for that day just in case – they will get you through it then). Hope all goes well xx

    Thanks gemma

I thought everyone healed at different rates! I’m just gonna have to keep my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!!

My surgeon says I should be fine holding the baby a few days after op!!

Hi hun, Im 11 days post op and started doing stuff at day 9… Everyone does heal differently so best to see how you feel. I held my 3 month old nephew yesterday and I was fine till he head butt my boob… He was hastily passed back to his mommy whilst I regained composure!! xx

I doubt I will get to hold him for long anyway, all my guests will pinch him!! I just want to hold him for the photos and during the mass!! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a quick recovery!!

I had an uplift and partial unders and have been able to pick my 16mth old since day 4 or 5, not sure how long i could hold him for tho as i only try to pick him up out of cot and put him down on floor or pick him up for a cuddle.

My pc did say that mums can usually handle the pain better, whether its true or not is another matter. xx
