How did you tell your family/friends?

I’m having rhinoplasty at the end of January and have only told my boyfriend. I’m in two minds about telling other people about it. I think if i tell my family they’re going to try and talk me out of it or worry about the op. Has anyone not told anyone about their op till after they had it? How did they take it? x

wel mines a little diffrent im having my boobs done i dnt plan on telling anyone obviously if they notice they notice so i guess its up to u really but if they notice its already done so cant try tralking u out of it lol xx

Hi, I am up for a boob job at end of jan, i am 47 and was worried that people would say ‘ at your age you should know better’. so i decided that i was going to be totally up front(no pun intended) and have told everyone, mostly people/ family have said well done for being bold and know i have a hang up about it and everyone is just joking and countiong days down with me now. so dont fear the unknown- you want it, you deserve it so go get it. LOUD AND PROUD is what say. x 😈 oh and a happy new year.

Yeah I spose. It’s obvs a lot harder to hide it as it’s my face lol. After it’s done i’ll tell people if they ask. I’m just not sure if i should tell my parents etc first

good for you sharon… and who cares how old you are, if it makes you happy. i agree with you too, i also told everyone that mattered anyway, i think after you need the support…x

I had a rhinoplasty end of september ….both my parents knew id always wanted one but didnt ever think I would ever do it. I didnt tell them till id paid my deposit and secured a date… my dad went mental, wouldnt speak to me about it (saying i was pathetic and need to get my priorities in line)..Mum was suprisingly supportive (and bought my dad round a bit ) As for friends i only told a handful of people at first. (One of them went round telling everyone tho ) But most people didnt even notice i’d had it done once the cast was removed.

I’d felt too guilty going ahead with it without telling my parents but on the other hand they worried like mad!!

I havent had surgery (yet) but am considering rhino with a couple of consultation’s booked next month. If I go ahead with surgery, I don’t think I’ll have an issue with telling my good friends and family, but I do wonder what I would tell people at work (I work in an office). Just wondering what people said to their colleagues about rhinoplasty, if anything at all.

tashy,i had a friend at work who had rhinoplasty, we all couldnt see what her problem was, after we could see that she had a bump removed and was a bit smaller and it did look good and every one was pleased for her and very supportive,however we quickly forgot about it ‘ yesterdays news’. but as i said earlier if its your thing then go for it. x

I had my ba done just b4 xmas as joanne said I told only the people that mattered its no-ones business or money at that point I’ve always wanted a pair of boobs and finally I got them x x

Thanks Sharon. Glad your friend was happy with her results and everyone was supportive. I dont have an issue with telling my friend – just not sure how to go about the work thing… I guess I’ll deal with it when I come to that stage.

I’m booked for rhino in two weeks, and I figured it wasn’t something I could hide!

The reaction has been odd to say the least friends of 20 years have said they never even noticed and that it didn’t need it but if that’s what you want!

You will be surprised that most people will understand its your decision and be supportive, at least that’s what I’ve found x

iv not told anyone, for fear of being talked out, my partner knows, and thats it, we are doing the ‘show and tell’ after, then my head can be completely clear for my op on monday, i wish i could tell my step-dad, but due to family fall outs i cant im glad doing it my way will help me, but i do want to scream it from the roof tops xx

i had mine done last week havnt told anyone if they notice they do lol xx
