how long after breast aug can u wash ur hair normally and have a proper shower?

roughly how long after surgery did it take till you could have a shower and a proper good wash lol – Trying to work out how much time I will need off work, and I don’t want to be going in feeling yuck and un-washed! Thnx x

I was allowed at 2 weeks. I saw the nurse at 9 days… she took my dressing off, put clean steri strips on, and said i could take them off after 3 or 4 days to have a shower xx

i am going to the hair dressers for a blowdry as my hairs so greasy and cant wait any longer lol xxx

thankyu, 2 weeks seems about the norm, i’m taking 2 weeks off from work so hopfully that should be enough time! x

You can have a bath though hun! As long as it’s not too deep, be careful not to get your dressings wet. And you’ll need help getting in and out lol! I managed to wash my own hair leaning over the bath too at 5 or 6 days, then went to the hair dressers after that cos I just couldn’t be bothered lol xxx

i had a bath for the first time tonight day 3 post op- didnt need any help at all had a shallow bath and kept sports bra on in bath so make sure nothing got wet – good luck emily xxx

Aw I couldn’t get out when I got in. Couldn’t use the top half of my body at all for just over a week. Not so much because of pain, but was soooo stiff xxx

I had kazzazi and nurse told me I could shower the day after I had my dressings changed. So day 8 I showered. Felt so good. Just sprayed savalon wound spray on after too x

everyones different with pain emily i was tender on the day , the next day i was still quiet tender but now im just tight and a tad uncomfortable but no pain at all its amazing im so lucky xxx

I had shallow baths after my op and a proper one at 7 days after my dressings removed. I found it easier washing my hair in the shower. Lovely your first proper bath afterwards. x

im dreading getting my boobs wet … i cant even stand my boobs out of my sports bra they just too heavy at the moment lol xxx

Hi girls, dr adamo said I could shower before I left the hospital if I wanted!!! I didn’t I waiting til the following morning but just had a shower from waist down and just sprayed the water Little under arms!

I did this every day til day 7 when I had my check up with the nurse. After she took the plasters off and put sterile strips on she said have full showers now then in another 7 days take the strips off, which I waited til about day 9/10.

I was then using kitchen roll, 1 for each boob to dry the incisions, just pat them then use low setting hair dryer on them or wait abit to get dressed. I also did this when I had c-sections with my boys and my scar is hardly noticeable.

Once I was wk 6 and had my final check up with surgeon I now still wash in santax and put body butter everywhere including boobie scars and they are looking good and faded already.

Don’t forget everyone heals at different times so do whatever is best and easier for u x

He ladies go steri strips day 7 yesterday and im allowed to shower as long as I blow dry the steri strips afetr I had Dr Kazzazi!
