How long after op can you go the gym??

I was advised by my nurse not to go to the gym until 6 weeks after my op… Has anyone been allowed before this? I’ve got more wobble going on than a bowl of jelly at the minute, I’m only 2 1/2 weeks post op but surely 4 weeks would be ok for
