How long after ur op did you see your surgeon?

Hi girls,

Can u tell me how long after your op you were all booked in for an appointment to see ur surgeon.

I was told at my 7 day check by the nurse that I would see the nurse again at 6 weeks and then she would make another appointment to see my surgeon for 6 weeks after that…so I’ll have only seen my surgeon 12 weeks after surgery.

Does this sound right? I’m 4 weeks post op, feeling ok, but another girl iv spoken to on another forum (also gone with MYA and same surgeon & hospital) she is almost 2 weeks post op and has been contacted by MYA to arrange to see her surgeon in August, so she will b about 6 weeks!

It seems to depend on the surgeon tbh. With Mr. K you get a 7 day and 6 week check with the nurse, a 12 week, 6 months, and 12 months check with the surgeon. Although saying that I had a problem at around the 3 week mark and went to see the nurse. Mr. K happened to be in that day and she got him to come in and check me over, so it’s possible to see the surgeon if you request and they’re around, or if the nurse thinks you need to x

Ah ok. I had Mr Traynor but so did the other girl iv spoken with so it just seems weird. X

Give your PC or nurse a call if you’re worried and think you should have another check up xx

I had mr traynor. So i had a week check with nurse.

Six week check with mr traynor. He then discharges u but can can go anytime u want to see him. Xx

i have got my 6 week check in a couple of weeks, but was not told if it was with the nurse or mr t?? xx
