How long after your op did you go out?

So I’m having my op on fri 21st dec, every year we have this meal with family and friends at a pub and get drunk blah blah blah, do you think I’m be able to go… Three days after my op?

Also when can you drink alcohol after your op?

I went out on a hen night in Manchester 2 weeks to the day of my op and was absolutely fine. Danced the whole night away but I deffo wasn’t feeling up to it 3 days after! was told to not drink at all for at least 2 weeks so as to keep blood flow as clean as possible for healing? Xx

How long do you have to take the antibiotics for? You can’t drink on them I’m told?!? xx

Unfortunately babe I was told the same. Antibiotics for one week so no alcohol then. And your not supposed to even have a sip for at least 14 days because it thins your blood and stops you healing as well. also I felt like SHIT sorry sweetie! Xx

You wont be able to go out like that for some weeks after hun , Sorry to tell it to you how it is .

Antibiotics last 7 days course

1 week after op you just about can wash and not always get the all clear from the nurse .

I was told no drinking for at least 3 weeks after op ,Even then just the odd glass of wine . I would wait for at least 5 to 6 weeks before going out like that x

Yeah I won’t drink after anyways was just wondering what te general time is that you’re allowed to drink again.

Guess I will just have to see how I feel and maybe just got for lunch of I feel ok …

Perhaps before Christmas wasn’t the best choice haha! C

i had one glass of wine five days post op, and i was half cut (usually it takes loads!), it took me three weeks to have a proper drink though, i just didnt feel like it, and even then i was tucked up in bed by midnight (so not like me)

i did have a family meal at four days post op, but didnt drink, it wasnt so bad, but they kept asking questions, and i just turned up in my pj’s and said id had an op on my shoulder, hence the no drinking and not driving, and the use of my snowman pj’s (my in-laws still think im daft for doing it, they have never seen me wihtout full face and dressed up, they tried to get pics) xx

Hey my antibiotics were only 3days! Alcohol I would wait a couple of weeks just in case, but my op was tues just gone an I’m going out tomoz for a meal with the girls, I think sitting down having dinner n a laugh won’t hurt. X
