How long can't u drink alcohol before ba for?

Isit 7 days or 48 hours??! X

I thought it was 2 weeks before…I had my last glass of wine last night :S xx

smoking is 2 weeks before 6 weeks after!!! goin g to be soooooooooooo hard ! x

I think my pc told me on first consultation it was 7 days but on the paperwork I’ve got it says 48 hours :S got ba on Tuesday an really want a few drinks tonight but dunno if I’m allowed? X

I haven’t even stopped smoking lol

i dotn really think it matters about smoking before but it does after?X

Stopping smoking before helps due to so many chemicals in your blood an after cos of infection an healing. I’ll quit after prob but right now need to know if I can drink tonight?! X

It said 48 hours on my sheet but I didn’t a week before just to be on the safe side. And with the smoking, the nurse explained it to me like think of your vessels as hose pipes and everytime you inhale your cig, it’s like standing on the hose pipe so hardly any water (blood) can get through and that’s why it’s such a risk with the healing x

I was told its fine as long as you don’t drink the night before! Some surgeons say 2 weeks but I think they are being over cautious!! I got my ba on a thur and I will prob have a few drinks the weekend before

My nurse said that to me as well about the smoking, found it impossible to quit as I’m so nervous I think I’ll find it easier after as I’ll be able to do it for the boobs! I tried texting my pc about drinking but no reply I might ring the clinic n find out what mr c’s policy is! X

and also you get people on nights out that are drunk and hurt themselves and end up needing surgery etc. I think if anything its to cover themselves if anything was to happen. does anyone know how long after surgery your not allowed to drink for?

Just rung up an spoke to a nurse she said they say one week before but im allowed one glass of wine tonight only lol an no alcohol for one week after x
